Series History
Southeast Missouri is 11-15 all-time in its series against Tennessee Tech, which began in 1991. TTU has won eight of the last 12 meetings between the teams. SEMO is looking to snap a five-game losing streak against the Golden Eagles in Cookeville. The last time the Redhawks won at Tucker Stadium was Nov. 15, 2003 (24-20). Eleven of the last 15 matchups in the series have been decided by seven or less points. SEMO lost by a point (21-20) the last time it faced TTU in Cookeville on Oct. 22, 2016.

Fresh Off a Bye
The Redhawks were idle last week and face Tennessee Tech after their bye week for the fifth-straight season. Southeast Missouri is 2-2 against the Golden Eagles under head coach Tom Matukewicz. SEMO lost by a point twice in Cookeville (27-26 in 2014; 21-20 in 2016) and beat TTU twice in Cape Girardeau (38-17 in 2015; 31-3 in 2017) during those contests.

Tennessee Home
Nine Redhawks on this year's roster are from Tennessee, including Bryson Donnell (Antioch), Aaron Alston (Brighton), Spencer Cartwright (Brighton), Cameron John (Brighton), Jordan John (Brighton), Gaines Williams (Germantown), Jacob Buie (Memphis), Justin Swift (Memphis) and Kristian Wilkerson (Memphis). Wilkerson (WR) and Swift (OLB) have started every game, while Donnell (DT) made three starts this season.

Wilkerson Reaches 100 Career Receptions
Junior wide receiver Kristian Wilkerson made his 100th career reception in Southeast Missouri's Ohio Valley Conference opening loss at Eastern Kentucky (Sept. 22). Wilkerson, who finished with three catches for 23 yards, had his 100th career reception on a 3-yard pass from Daniel Santacaterina early in the fourth quarter. That play set up the Redhawks final touchown of the game. Wilkerson currently has 100 catches for 1,452 yards in his career.  He ranks second on the team with 13 receptions for 156 yards and two touchdowns in four starts this season.

Winless FCS Teams
Tennessee Tech (0-5) is one of 11 Football Championship Subdivision teams without a win this season. VMI (0-5), Savannah State (0-4), Valparaiso (0-4), Delaware State (0-4), Fordham (0-4), Northern Colorado (0-5), South Carolina State (0-4), New Hampshire (0-4), Mississippi Valley State (0-3) and Southern Utah (0-4) are the others.

Zero Rushing Touchdowns
Tennessee Tech is currently the only team in all of NCAA Division I football without a rushing touchdown this season. The Golden Eagles, who rank last in the Ohio Valley Conference in scoring with 18 points a game, average 141.2 rushing yards per contest. TTU ran the ball a total of 185 times with an average of 3.8 yards per carry through its first five matchups.

Against the OVC
Fifth-year Southeast Missouri head coach Tom Matukewicz is 12-20 in Ohio Valley Conference play. Matukewicz has at least one win against seven of the eight league schools. Jacksonville State is the only OVC team he hasn't beat. Here is a breakdown of Matukewicz'a records in the conference:
vs. Austin Peay    3-1
vs. Eastern Illinois    1-3
vs. Eastern Kentucky    1-4
vs. Jacksonville State    0-4
vs. Murray State    3-1
vs. Tennessee State    1-2
vs. Tennessee Tech    2-2
vs. UT Martin    1-3

Sack Tracker
The Redhawk defense has recorded a sack in 11 of its last 12 games dating back to last season. So far, Demarcus Rogers, Ryan Ochoa, Bryson Donnell and Omardrick Douglas each have one sack this year. Southeast Missouri led the Ohio Valley Conference and ranked sixth in the Football Championship Subdivision with 37 sacks in 2017.

Tough Defense
Southeast Missouri's defense allowed only six points on a season-high five Redhawk turnovers at Eastern Kentucky (Sept. 22). Those points came by way of a 29-yard field goal in the first quarter and 41-yard field goal in the fourth. SEMO also had three double-digit tacklers in a game for the first time this season with Zach Hall paving the way with 14 and Justin Swift and Omardrick Douglas each adding 10.

Busy in the Red Zone
The Redhawks lead the Ohio Valley Conference in red zone offense scoring on 14-of-15 chances (93.3 pct.) through four games this season. SEMO has not turned the ball over in the red zone and scored 75 points (5 rush TDs, 6 pass TDs, 3 field goals) on drives inside their opponents' 20-yard line.

Countdown to 200
Zach Hall is getting close to 200 career tackles. Hall leads the Ohio Valley Conference and ranks third in the nation with 55 total tackles this season. He has posted 10 or more stops in three of his first four starts. Hall presently has 170 tackles in his career. Fellow linebacker Roper Garrett (359 tackles, 2012-16) was the last SEMO player to get 200 or more career tackles.

Race to 1,000 Yards
In four starts this season, tailback Marquis Terry is already more than halfway to 1,000 rushing yards. Terry leads the Ohio Valley Conference and is third in the nation with 648 rushing yards. He leads the OVC and is third in the Football Championship Subdivision with six rushing touchdowns and tops the league and rates third nationally with 162 rushing yards per game. Terry is 352 yards away from hitting the 1,000 mark for the second year in a row after rushing for a team-high 1,076 yards last season.

Working With Purpose
In addition to his success running the football, Marquis Terry is gaining yards in other ways too. Terry broke the Southeast Missouri and Ohio Valley Conference record with 438 all-purpose yards at Southern Illinois (Sept. 15). He picked up 311 rushing yards, caught one pass for 13 yards and returned five kickoffs for 114 yards against the Salukis. That performance alone put Terry at the top of the OVC and all of NCAA football (FBS, FCS, II, III). He enters the week with an average of 232.8 all-purpose yards per game. Memphis' Darrell Henderson is the next closest to Terry with 225.7 all-purpose yards per contest.

Mr. Perfect
Nicholas Litang, Southeast Missouri's second-leading scorer with 27 points this season, leads the Ohio Valley Conference with a perfect 15-of-15 PATs. Litang is averaging 6.8 points per game kicking the football and rates fifth in the league in scoring (kick).

2,000 is Ahead
Marquis Terry needs 276 rushing yards to hit 2,000 in his two-year Southeast Missouri career. Terry has gained 1,724 yards on 306 attempts, averaging 5.6 yards per carry in his career. Henry Harris was the last SEMO running back to accumulate 2,000 career rushing yards when he had 2,773 from 2008-10.

Record Setter
Senior running back Marquis Terry was unstoppable in the Redhawks latest win at Southern Illinois (Sept. 15). Terry broke single-game Southeast Missouri and Ohio Valley Conference records in rushing (311) and all-purpose yardage (438). His 311 yards rushing and 438 all-purpose yards are the most by a player at any level of NCAA football (FBS, FCS, II, III) this season.

Turnover Battle
Southeast Missouri won the turnover battle in all three of its first four games this season. The Redhawk defense leads the Ohio Valley Conference and ranks 17th in the Football Championship Subdivision with a +4  turnover margin. SEMO forced a season-high four turnovers at Southern Illinois (Sept. 15). The Redhawks rank second in the OVC and eighth in the FCS with six interceptions, and is eighth in the nation with 10 turnovers gained. The Redhawks are just four interceptions away from matching their season total of 10 interceptions a year ago.

Terry Cracks Top 10
Marquis Terry placed himself among Southeast Missouri's top 10 career leaders in rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, most 100-yard games, rushing yards per carry and 200-yard games. Terry enters the week ranked 10th in rushing yards (1,724), tied for ninth in rushing touchdowns (13) and most 100-yard games (6), third in rushing yards per carry (5.6) and tied for first in most 200-yard games (2).

Atop the OVC
Marquis Terry leads the Ohio Valley Conference in rushing (162 ypg) and all-purpose (232.8 ypg) yardage. Jake Reynolds tops the league in punting (41.9 ypp) and Zach Hall is the conference's leader in tackles (55). Nicholas Litang is tied for first in PAT kicking percentage (1.000) as one of four kickers in the league who hasn't missed an extra point. Marcus Lucas is first in the OVC in interceptions (2).

Starting Streak
Senior Drew Forbes enters Saturday's game with a streak of 26 consecutive starts at left tackle. Forbes anchors an offensive line that features three returning starters.

Scoring Streak
The Redhawks presently have the second-longest scoring streak in the Ohio Valley Conference. Southeast Missouri has scored in 81-consecutive games and ranks behind Murray State (145) in that category. The last time the Redhawks were shutout in a game was at Purdue (59-0) on Sept. 17, 2011.

Up Next
Southeast Missouri plays at home for the first time in over a month when it returns to Cape Girardeau to host Austin Peay on its homecoming, Oct. 13. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m., CT, at Houck Field.
