Redhawks Total 191.900 in Martin Luther King Day Dual Against Lindenwood

Jones Won Her First Two Event Titles in 2018
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Alexis Brawner, Lindsey Bates and McKinzie Jones all won individual titles for Southeast Missouri women's gymnastics but the Redhawks fell to Lindenwood, 194.650-191.900, Monday afternoon on Martin Luther King Day at Houck Field House.
Brawner took her second vault title in 2018 with a season-best score of 9.825 and Jones won the floor exercise with a season-best 9.850. Jones also tied with Bates on beam to win the title with scores of 9.800. Bates captured her second career all-around crown with a score of 38.250 and personal-bests on vault and beam.
SEMO started the dual on vault with a season-best team score of 48.400. Led by Brawner, Bates added a score of 9.775 for second on the team and Gabrielle Adams chipped in a 9.725. Mackenzie Slee and McKenna Stanley rounded out the rotation for Southeast with scores of 9.550 and 9.525.
In the second rotation of the meet, the Redhawks totaled a 47.700 on the uneven bars. Brawner tied her career-best on bars with a 9.825 in the anchor position to lead Southeast. Jones also added a season-best score of 9.725. Alana Fischer and Jordan Williams both matched season-high scores of 9.600 and 9.550 for third and fourth on SEMO.
Southeast totaled another season-best with a team score of 48.200 on beam. Jones and Bates led the way for the Redhawks with season-best scores of 9.800. Fischer added a personal-best score of 9.725 for third on SEMO. Megan Dennis also recorded a personal-record score of 9.575 in the discipline.
In the fourth and final rotation, the Redhawks totaled a 47.600 on floor to close out the dual. Jones led Southeast with a season-best score of 9.850 to win the title and Brawner added a score of 9.700 for second-best on the team. Bates was third on Southeast with a score of 9.675.
SEMO takes a short break from competition before traveling to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for back-to-back meets on Friday, Jan. 26 and Sunday, Jan. 28. Southeast opens the weekend against Penn on Friday and then participates in a quad meet on Sunday against Cornell, Ithaca and host school, Temple.
