SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Southeast Missouri (4-2) collected its third straight win with a 5-2 victory over Missouri State (3-4).
For the third consecutive match, SEMO swept the doubles point to open an early, 1-0, advantage.
Isabella Krupa and
Oleksandra Doroshenko remained at the top of the lineup for the Redhawks, taking their match, 6-2, over the Bears' Anelisse Torrico and Faty Khamissi.
Kseniya Zonova and
Anais Emelie dropped Alye Darter and Phoebe Boeschen, 6-1, at the No. 2 position.
Mila Majtan and
Ana Canahuate-Torres closed out doubles play with a 6-2 victory over MSU's Alexia Meyer and Abbey Belote.
SEMO closed out the match winning four of six singles bouts. Doroshenko (No. 2) won her fifth singles match of the season, beating MSU's Torrico in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.
Annisa Warasanti (No. 4) and Emelie (No. 6) also collected wins in straight sets. Zonova went three sets at the No. 3 postiion, ultimately emerging victorious over Khamissi, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6.
Isabella Krupa fought hard at the top of the lineup, but eventually fell in three sets. Majtan lost in straight sets at the No. 5 position.
The Redhawks face Arkansas-Pine Bluff Saturday.
