OVC West
Southeast moved back into a tie for first in the Ohio Valley Conference West Division with its road win at SIU Edwardsville and some help from Eastern Illinois Thursday. The Redhawks and UT Martin share the top spot in the division with 7-5 marks. UTM beat Southeast in Martin, Tennessee earlier this year, but the Skyhawks return the trip to Cape Girardeau next week.

Final Stretch
The Redhawks are in position to control their own destiny as their schedule plays to their favor entering the final stretch of the season. UT Martin (Feb. 18), Murray State (Feb. 23) and Austin Peay (Feb. 25) all come to Cape Girardeau during Southeast's longest homestand of the year. Southeast is 8-3 overall and 4-1 in Ohio Valley Conference play on its homecourt this season.

Series History
Southeast holds a 26-23 advantage in its overall series against Eastern Illinois. EIU has won three of the last fou meetings in the series. The Redhawks are 1-3 in their last four trips to Charleston, last beating the Panthers, 74-68, at Lantz Arena on Feb. 8, 2014.

Last Time vs. Eastern Illinois
Antonius Cleveland scored 18 points and Trey Kellum added a double-double 15 points and 13 rebounds to lead Southeast to an 83-71 win over Eastern Illinois on Jan. 21. At the time, it was the Redhawks fifth-straight home win. The Redhawks led by as many as 14 points before putting EIU away.

On Track
Antonius Cleveland is just four starts away from breaking Southeast's all-time career record in games started. Cleveland currently has 103 starts. Lucas Nutt (2009-14) presently holds the record with 106 career starts.

More on Cleveland
Antonius Cleveland moved to seventh all-time in career scoring at Southeast. Cleveland (1,465) recently surpassed Marland Smith (1,423 pts., 2009-13) for that spot. Cleveland is also one steal away from getting 150 in his career.

Road Wins
Southeast picked up its fourth road win of the season when it beat SIU Edwardsville, 71-67, Thursday. The Redhawks go after back-to-back wins on the road for the second time this season when they face Eastern Illinois. Southeast also took down Murray State (75-74, Jan. 26) and Austin Peay (82-71, Jan. 28). If the Redhawks beat the Panthers Saturday, it will mark the first time since 2012 where they swept the SIUE and EIU road swing.

First Career Start for Dalton
Sophomore Jonathan Dalton made his first career start at SIU Edwardsville (Feb. 9). Dalton scored three points and had three assists in 11 minutes. He was part of Southeast's sixth different starting combination this year.

Eaddy Has Big Week
Freshman guard Tahj Eaddy averaged 16 points per game in two starts for Southeast last week. A native of West Haven, Connecticut, Eaddy scored 10 points at Jacksonville State (Feb. 1). Two days later, Eaddy pitched in a career-high 22 points on 8-of-12 field goals and a season-high 4-of-6 three-pointers. He shot 54.5 percent (12-of-22) from the field and 6-of-10 (.600) from 3-point range for the week. Eaddy also averaged three assists per game. He followed that up by scoring 14 points off the bench at SIU Edwardsville (Feb. 9).

Big Free Throws
Free throws made a difference in Southeast's recent 71-67 win over SIU Edwardsville (Feb. 9). The Redhawks outscored the Cougars, 27-15, at the free throw line. Southeast made more free throws than SIUE attempted, which is something to be said. Especially, since the Cougars entered the game as the nation's No. 2 team in free throw attempts.

Turnovers Also Factored In
Southeast forced 17 turnovers in addition to its strong effort at the free throw line at SIU Edwardsville (Feb. 9). The Redhawks turned those miscues into 22 points. It was the 10th time Southeast's defense forced 17 or more turnovers in a game this season.

Big Improvement
Southeast won its 12th game of the season when it beat SIU Edwardsville (Feb. 9). The Redhawks have increased their win total from a year ago by a +7 margin. The Redhawks also won five more games than it did in Ohio Valley Conference play last season. Southeast was 5-24 overall and 2-14 in OVC games during the 2015-16 campaign.
