CLARKSVILLE, Tennessee – Southeast Missouri women's volleyball (10-17, 5-8) fell to Austin Peay (26-4, 13-1) in straight sets (13-25, 10-25, 23-25) Saturday afternoon at the Winfield Dunn Center.

With the win, the Governors clinched a share of the 2017 Ohio Valley Conference regular-season title.

Krissa Gearring recorded a team-high 12 kills and
Nzingha Clarke added five on a match-best .308 hitting percentage.
Madeline Grimm chipped in four and matched her season-high of 11 digs.

Allie Henkelman dished out 22 assists. Libero Ally Dion led the Redhawks defensively with 12 digs.

Austin Peay jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the match after winning the opening two sets, 25-13, 25-10.

In the third set, Southeast racked up a 19-13 lead behind nine kills from Gearring on a .500 hitting clip. APSU responded with a 6-2 run to bring the score to 19-20.

Two kills from Gearring plus one from
Jessica McElderry gave SEMO a 23-19 edge. The Governors answered with six straight points to take the set and the match.

The Redhawks outhit the Governors with a match-high .405 team hitting percentage.

Southeast also out blocked Austin Peay in the match, 10-3.

The Redhawks close out the regular season with home matchups against SIUE on Nov. 10 and Eastern Illinois on Nov. 11.
