Series History
UT Martin leads the all-time series against Southeast Missouri, 17-15. The Skyhawks have won 10 of the last 12 meetings between the teams. Southeast is 8-8 all-time against UTM at Houck Field. The Redhawks last beat the Skyhawks on their home field on Oct. 30, 2010 (24-17).
Season Winding Down
Southeast has two games left this season following Saturday's matchup with UT Martin. The Redhawks head to Tennessee State on Nov. 11 before hosting Murray State in their season finale on Nov. 18. Southeast will honor its seniors prior to kickoff against the Racers. That game also marks Military Appreciation Day for the Redhawks.
At Home
The Redhawks are 2-1 at Houck Field this season with both wins coming in Ohio Valley Conference play. Another home victory would give Southeast its first three-game home winning streak since 2012.
Redhawk Rewind
Southeast dropped a 23-7 decision at Ohio Valley Conference leader and #3 Jacksonville State (Oct. 28). The Redhawks put together a strong defensive effort that featured a season-high eight sacks. But, JSU blocked two field goals and made some big plays on third down to nail down its seventh win. The Gamecocks also scored the final 16 points of the game.
4,000 in Sight
Quarterback Jesse Hosket is 57 passing yards away from reaching 4,000 in his career. Hosket enters the week at 327-of-641 for 3,943 yards and 23 touchdowns as a Redhawk. He has thrown for 1,611 yards and 12Â touchdowns this season alone. Matt Scheible was the last Southeast quarterback to throw for more than 4,000 yards (4,841 from 2008-11).
Sack it Up
The Redhawks recorded an Ohio Valley Conference single-game high eight sacks at Jacksonville State (Oct. 28). Linebackers Zach Hall and Justin Swift led the way with three each, while Daterraion Richardson and Kendall Donnerson added one. It was Southeast's most sacks in a game since the Redhawks had seven vs. Tennessee Tech on Oct. 31, 2015.
Introducing Mr. Smith
Redshirt-freshman Zack Smith hauled in his third touchdown reception of the season at Jacksonville State (Oct. 28). Smith caught a 37-yard pass from Jesse Hosket to tie the game at 7-7 with 6:23 remaining in the first quarter. He finished with four receptions for a career-high 81 yards against the Gamecocks. Smith has caught a touchdown pass in two-straight games and is tied for first on the team with three receiving TDs.
Eisenhart Steps Up
Richie Eisenhart turned in a career-best four catches for 88 yards against Austin Peay (Oct. 21). Eisenhart made his first career touchdown reception on a 29-yard pass from Jesse Hosket with 3:28 to go in the fourth quarter. He made an amazing catch and managed to stay in-bounds in the back of the end zone on that play. Eisenhart also made a sliding 34-yard catch in the final period. He followed that up with three more catches for 21 yards at Jacksonville State (Oct. 28).
Deja Vu
For the second-straight week, Omar Pierre-Louis and Zach Hall registered double-digit tackles. Pierre-Louis and Hall each finished with 10 at Austin Peay (Oct. 21). A week later at Jacksonville State, Pierre-Louis tallied 15 stops and Hall followed with 11. Pierre-Louis' 15 tackles are most in a game by any Redhawk this season. Southeast had at least one player register 10 or more tackles in a game four times in 2017.
Swift Performance
Outside linebacker Justin Swift turned in a career-high five tackles at Jacksonville State (Oct. 28). Swift tallied three sacks and 4.5 tackles for loss against the Gamecocks. He now has 11 tackles in seven games this season. Swift is also one of three Redhawks with at least three sacks. The others are Zach Hall (6) and Kendall Donnerson (4).
Spreading it Around
Eight different Southeast receivers caught a pass in each of the Redhawks last two games. Kristian Wilkerson, Richie Eisenhart, Eric Williams, Zack Smith, Trevon Billington, Cameron Sanders, Marquis Terry and Logan Larson had at least one reception at Austin Peay (Oct. 21). Smith, Eisenhart, Terry, Billington, Larson, Williams, Sanders and Evan Scales accomplished the feat at Jacksonville State (Oct. 28).
Hosket Moves into Top 10
Quarterback Jesse Hosket is now among Southeast's all-time career leaders in five categories. Hosket is eighth in passing yards (3,943), eighth in pass completions (327), fifth in pass attempts (641), ninth in most touchdown passes (23), 10th in total offense yardage (3,915) and seventh in total offense attempts (742).
18 and Counting
Southeast kicker Nicholas Litang enters the week with a streak of 18-consecutive PATs. Litang last missed a PAT on his second attempt of the season at Kansas (Sept. 2). He is 19-of-20 in extra points through eight games this season. Litang is also fifth in the Ohio Valley Conference in scoring (kick) (5 ppg), seventh in scoring, fifth in field goals (7-of-13) and fourth in PAT kicking percentage (95.0).
Second in the OVCÂ
Marquis Terry is second in the Ohio Valley Conference in rushing this year. Terry, who ran for a career-high 184 yards and two touchdowns against Eastern Kentucky (Sept. 30), is averaging 89.2 rushing yards per game. Nationally, Terry is 14th in the Football Championship Subdivision in rushing yards per game and 16th in total rushing yards (714).
Start Tracker
Jesse Hosket started 19-consecutive games since he took over as Southeast's quarterback in 2016. Hosket is the Redhawks first quarterback to start back-to-back seasons in six years. Meanwhile, Drew Forbes has started 19 games in a row at left tackle. In addition, senior Alex Snyder has started 29 of his last 30 games. Snyder started 11 games at left tackle and 18 at right tackle during his career.
FCS Rankings
Southeast has five players ranked among the top 20 NCAA Football Championship Subdivision leaders. Kendall Donnerson (3) is eighth in forced fumbles; Mike Ford is 11th in passes defended (1.5 per game); Kristian Wilkerson is 17th in receptions per game (6.3); Cameron Sanders is ninth in kickoff returns (28 ypr); and Marquis Terry is 16th in total rushing yards (714) and 20th in rushing yards per game (89.3).
Scoring Streak
The Redhawks presently have the second-longest scoring streak in the Ohio Valley Conference. Southeast has scored in 74-consecutive games and ranks behind Murray State (139) in that category. The last time the Redhawks were shutout in a game was at Purdue (59-0) on Sept. 17, 2011.
