Winning Streak
Southeast carries a two-game winning streak into this week's matchup with Austin Peay. The Governors and Redhawks are currently third and fourth in the Ohio Valley Conference standings, respectively. If Southeast wins Saturday, it will match its longest winning streak under head coach Tom Matukewicz.Â
Series History
The Redhawks are 15-6 all-time in their series against Austin Peay. Southeast beat the Governors each of the last seven years. The Redhawks are 9-2 against APSU in Clarksville and own a nine-game winning streak at Governors Stadium. Southeast has not lost in Clarksville since Sept. 28, 1991 (24-21).
Happy Homecoming
Southeast used a 17-point first quarter and recorded three takeaways to fuel a dominating 31-3 victory over Tennessee Tech on its homecoming Oct. 14. The 31 points marked a season-high and the three points allowed by the Redhawks defense are a season-low. The win was Southeast's 13th on homecoming since moving to the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision in 1991.
OVC Winning Record
The Redhawks are one of four teams with winning Ohio Valley Conference records. Eastern Illinois (4-0) and Jacksonville State (3-0) are at the top of the league standings, while Austin Peay (3-1) and Southeast (2-1) round out the top four. All four of those teams also have a league-best two victories at home this season.
Tough Defense
Southeast's defense boasted a +7 turnover margin with five interceptions in its last two games. The Redhaws recorded a season-high four takeaways against Eastern Kentucky (Sept. 30) before following that up with three two weeks later against Tennessee Tech (Oct. 14). Southeast has a total of 13 takeaways and is second in the Ohio Valley Conference with a +3 turnover margin this season.
Reynolds Nabs OVC Specialist of the Week Award
Redshirt-freshman punter Jake Reynolds was named adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Specialist of the Week on Oct. 15. A native of Wildwood, Missouri, Reynolds averaged 45.9 yards on seven punts in Southeast's dominating 31-3 victory over Tennessee Tech. He boomed a 78-yard punt in the fourth quarter, marking the longest in the OVC this season and fourth-longest punt in school history. Reynolds dropped two of his punts inside the 20-yard line. He currently ranks 29th nationally with 41.5 yards per punt. Eastern Illinois running back Isaiah Johnson (Offensive & Newcomer) and Jacksonville State defensive end Darius Jackson (Defensive) rounded out the honorees.
Redhawk Picks
Five different Redhawks have had an interception through six games this season. Omar Pierre-Louis paves the way with three, Shabari Davis has two and Kendall Donnerson, Mike Ford and Al Young each have one. The eight picks surpassed Southeast's total of five in 11 games a year ago. The Redhawks enter the week ranked third in the Ohio Valley Conference in interceptions.
Career-High for Sanders
Cameron Sanders ran for over 100 yards in a game for the first time in his career when he gained 102 in Southeast's win over Tennessee Tech (Oct. 14). Sanders averaged 14.6 yards per carry on seven attempts and broke free for a 70-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. He is averaging a team-high 11 yards per carry and ranks second with 38.3 rushing yards a game.
Another 100-yard Performance
For the second time in three games, Kristian Wilkerson went over 100 receiving yards. Wilkerson finished with seven catches for 109 yards and a touchdown in his latest effort against Tennessee Tech (Oct. 14). He hauled in a 47-yard touchdown pass from Jesse Hoset early in the fourth quarter. Wilkerson now has four 100-yard receiving games in his career.

78-Yard PuntÂ
The two longest punts in NCAA Division I Football this season happened on the same day (Oct. 14). Southeast's Jake Reynolds boomed a Football Championship Subdivision long 78-yard punt against Tennessee Tech and Marshall's Kaare Vedvik had a 92-yard punt vs. Old Dominion. Three of the four longest punts in the FCS are held by Ohio Valley Conference players. Murray State's Landon Stratton (77-yard punt) and Eastern Kentucky's Keith Wrzuszczak (76-yard punt) are second and third behind Reynolds, respectively.
Fourth-LongestÂ
Jake Reynolds' 78-yard punt was the fourth-longest in Southeast football history. David Simonhoff holds the three punts ahead of Reynolds with distances of 83 (2003), 82 (2004) and 80 (2005) yards.
First Quarter Touchdown
Southeast scored its first, first-quarter touchdown of the season when Eric Williams caught a 9-yard touchdown pass from Jesse Hosket with 9:27 left to play. Williams' TD was part of a 17-point first quarter in the Redhawks commanding 31-3 victory over Tennessee Tech (Oct. 14). The last time Southeast scored a touchdown in the first quarter was on a 33-yard run by Will Young with 12:23 remaining against Tennessee State (Nov. 19, 2016).

Hosket Clears 1,000 Passing Yards
Jesse Hosket completed 13-of-27 passes for 161 yards and a career-high three touchdowns against Tennessee Tech (Oct. 14). Hosket threw multiple touchdown passes in a game for the third time this season and sixth in his career. He also became the third quarterback in the Ohio Valley Conference to throw for over 1,000 yards this year. Hosket (1,073) ranks third in the league in passing yards behind Tennessee Tech's Andre Sale (1,375) and Eastern Kentucky's Tim Boyle (1,337). He is also third in the conference in total offense with 178.5 yards per game. Hosket is 63 passing yards away from joining Southeast's top 10 career leaders.
Sanders Makes History
With his 70-yard touchdown run against Tennessee Tech (Oct. 14), Cameron Sanders became the first-ever Southeast player to score two rushing touchdowns of 70 or more yards in the same season. Sanders also scored on a 77-yard run two weeks prior to that against Eastern Kentucky (Sept. 30). His 77-yard rush against the Colonels is currently the longest in the Ohio Valley Conference this year. The Redhawks have a total of three runs consisting of 67 or more yards in 2017.
Pierre-Louis Puts in Career Effort
Safety Omar Pierre-Louis had a career-high two interceptions against Tennessee Tech (Oct. 14). Pierre-Louis intercepted Adam Browner in the second and fourth quarters of that game. He became the third player in the Ohio Valley Conference to get two picks in a game this season, joining Murray State's D'Montre Wade (Sept. 9) and Tennessee State's Vincent Sellers (Oct. 7). Pierre-Louis is tied for second in the OVC with three interceptions this season.

He is 14-of-15 in extra points through six games this season. Litang is also fourth in the Ohio Valley Conference in scoring (kick) (5.3 ppg), sixth in scoring, tied for third in field goals (6-of-8) and fourth in PAT kicking percentage (93.3).

Nationally, Terry is 13th in the Football Championship Subdivision in rushing yards per game and 16th in total rushing yards (595), while Sanders rates 11th in kickoff returns.
Dynamic Duo

Meanwhile, Drew Forbes has started 17 games in a row at left tackle. In addition, senior Alex Snyder has started 27 of his last 28 games. Snyder started 11 games at left tackle and 16 at right tackle during his career.
