A Look at What's Ahead
The month of January will end with a matchup at Austin Peay on Saturday, Jan. 28. The Redhawks and Govs are set for a 4 p.m. tipoff from Clarksville, Tennessee. It's then off to Jacksonville State for a midweek contest on Feb. 1 with an early 11:30 a.m. tip. SEMO returns home Feb. 4 and 8 to host Morehead State and SIUE.

Series History
Southeast Missouri leads the all-time series with Murray State, 30-25, dating back to 1976-77. Since Southeast joined Division I, the margin of victory widens for the Redhawks to 29-21. At home, SEMO is 19-10 against the Racers, with SEMO winning the last four matchups with the Racers at the Show Me Center. Last season, SEMO took the Racers down scoring a season-high 96 points at home on Feb. 3. 10 days later, Murray was victorious on the road, 80-61.

Scouting the Racers
Murray State travels to the Show Me Center bringing a 12-7 overall and 4-2 OVC record with it. Murray most recently dropped a road contest at Austin Peay on Saturday but has otherwise had a great start to league play, opening 4-1 with wins over Tennessee State, Jacksonville State, Eastern Illinois, and SIUE. The Racers are currently tied for third place. Murray is 4-5 this season away from the CFSB Center, going 2-2 in OVC play on the road. Ke'Shunan James leads the OVC with 20.8 points per game in league-only games while LeAsia Wright isn't far behind with 17.8 points per game. James also leads the Racers with 7.5 rebounds a game in league play, a figure that ranks sixth in the conference. James and Wright have combined for three OVC Player of the Week honors this season. James most recently earned the honor last week on Jan. 17 for her back-to-back double-double performances against Eastern Illinois and SIUE. She fell one assist shy of a triple-double, recording 23 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists in the win over Eastern Illinois. Overall on the season, Murray narrowly trails Belmont for the league lead in points per game with a 75.3 mark while recording a +6.9 scoring margin.

A Look Back
The Redhawks dropped a 71-62 decision to Eastern Illinois Saturday at the Show Me Center. Senior Bri Mitchell became the second player this season, 18th all-time, to join Southeast's 1,000-Point Club. Mitchell led the Redhawks in scoring with a game-high 20 points. It was her fourth 20-point game of the season and 11th of her career. The Germantown, Tennessee native also finished with five rebounds and three assists. After earning a season-high 15 points on Wednesday at SIUE, Lakyn Gulley followed up that performance with 16 points against Eastern Illinois. Gulley drained four 3-pointers and grabbed four rebounds in the contest. On the boards, Southeast was led by a career-best seven-rebound performance from sophomore Dolapo Balogun. She finished the contest with six points. Southeast scored 36 total points in the paint Saturday, the most by the team in conference play this season.

Leaving Their Legacy
Southeast's two seniors, Olivia Hackmann and Bri Mitchell, are the newest inductees to the Southeast Missouri Women's Basketball 1,000-Point Club. Hackmann scored her 1,000th point on Dec. 31 while Mitchell was inducted on Jan. 21. They are the 17th and 18th all-time members to the club, eighth and ninth of the Division I era. Sonya Daugherty and Tarina Nixon (2005-09) were the last inducted into the club, also doing it in the same season.

Hackmann Sidelined Indefinitely
Redshirt-senior Olivia Hackmann underwent successful surgery on her right foot Friday, Jan. 20. She is listed as out indefinitely. Hackmann goes down as SEMO's leading scorer this season with 19.6 points per game in league play.

Assisting Milestone
Bri Mitchell currently has 291 assists in a Redhawk uniform, ranking ninth all-time. 300 career assists would move the senior into seventh. Only six other Southeast Missouri players have recorded 300 assists in their career.

Sharp Shooting Sniper
Junior guard Hannah Noe hit her 100th career 3-pointer in the game at UT Martin on Jan. 14. Her 101 3-pointers ranks seventh all-time at SEMO. The record, held by Julie Meier (1991-95) is 174. Her 51 makes this season is now tied for 10th. The single-season record is 68 makes from long range held by Natalie Purcell (2005-06).

Wiping the Glass
Southeast Missouri ranks 37th nationally, third in the OVC in total rebounds with 812; however, Southeast's 40.6 rebounds per game ranks 78th nationally. Southeast is 7-4 when it outrebounds its opponents. With only 30 teams ranked in the category, SEMO ranks 23rd in the country with 16 offensive rebounds per game, a figure that leads the OVC. A season-high 32 offensive boards against Lipscomb (Dec. 6) resulted in 30 second-chance points, also a season best.
