Redhawks End Home Schedule This Weekend

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -- Southeast Missouri (1-15, 0-6) plays its final two home matches of the season this weekend. The Redhawks host Eastern Kentucky (11-8, 6-0) at Noon, CT, Friday and Morehead State (2-14, 0-4) at 2 p.m. Saturday.

"We are excited to be hosting another round of matches this weekend," said Southeast head coach Mary Beth Gunn. "Eastern Kentucky is undefeated in Ohio Valley Conference play, so they are the team with a target on them right now. We are looking to play pressure-free, big tennis."

Southeast is looking to snap a 14-match losing streak and searching for its first win in OVC play. Isabella Krupa collected her eighth total victory of the season against Austin Peay, pairing with Anais Emelie for her fourth doubles win.

EKU is perfect 6-0 at the top of the OVC standings. The Colonels tallied at least six points in five of their six conference wins. Laura Argente and Raquel Montalvo lead the Colonels with identical 8-8 records at the top of the lineup.

MSU has two wins in conference play with 5-2 victories at Tennessee State and Belmont. Ayaka Terashi leads the Eagles with nine total victories at the number one position, including six in singles action.
