CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -- Southeast Missouri (1-1) is back in action Tuesday when they take on Saint Louis University (2-3) at 12 p.m., CT, at the St. Clair Tennis Club in O'Fallon, Illinois.
The Redhawks opened the season on Jan. 29 with a 6-1 loss to Illinois State.
Annisa Warasanti secured the lone victory in the No. 6 position. They turned around the next day and claimed a 6-1 victory over Chicago State. The team was able to sweep the doubles competition and followed it up winning five out of six singles matches to cap their stellar performance.
Southeast is looking for their first consecutive-match win streak since they went on a five-match win streak (3/9-3/22) during the 2014 spring season.
"St. Louis is a tough team, and we are looking forward to the challenge," said head coach
Mary Beth Gunn. "We will be trying out some new things that we have been practicing."
SLU has wins against Olivet Nazarene and SIU-Edwardsville. They are currently riding a two-match losing streak following losses to Southeastern Conference opponents Arkansas and Missouri.
