Tipping Off
Southeast Missouri women's basketball (5-5) takes to the road Friday for a showdown with regional rival Southern Illinois (3-4). The Redhawks and Salukis will tip off at noon from SIU Arena in Carbondale, Illinois.

A Look at What's Ahead
The Redhawks will take a week off from competition for finals week before being back in action next Friday, Dec. 16 at Memphis. Non-conference play will come to an end on Dec. 19 at home against Alabama A&M. Ohio Valley Conference play will begin Dec. 29 against Tennessee Tech. 
 
Series History
Southeast trails in the all-time series to Southern Illinois, 4-9. Since SEMO joined Division I, they have gone 3-5 to SIU. The series dates back to 1975 in Carbondale. The Redhawks and Salukis have met every season since 2012 with SEMO going 1-3 in those contests. Southeast Missouri is winless at 0-5 all-time in Carbondale. 
 
Scouting the Salukis
Southern Illinois will enter Friday's game having suffered back-to-back losses to UT Martin (76-68) and UAB (64-49). The loss to UAB was SIU's first home loss of the season after opening 2-0. Kylie Giebelhausen is one of two Salukis averaging double-figure scoring with 13 points a game. She recorded 22 points against Murray State on Nov. 17. Kim Nebo has averaged 12.3 points a game and is leading the squad with 51 total rebounds, averaging 7.3 boards a game. Nebo is coming off a 10-rebound game against UAB. Southern Illinois is 1-2 against the OVC this season with losses to SIUE and UT Martin. While the Redhawks rank eighth nationally in shooting 3-pointers, SIU ranks fourth in defending them. 
 
Looking Back
Southeast Missouri women's basketball turned in a +34-rebounding margin en route to a 79-63 victory over Lipscomb University on Tuesday evening at the Show Me Center. The Redhawks hauled in 32 offensive rebounds that resulted in 30 total second-chance points on Tuesday. In all, SEMO had 59 rebounds, falling just five short of the program record of 64 (UT Martin, Dec. 1, 1990). SEMO's back-to-back wins are the first this season. For the fourth time this season and the second game in a row, Hannah Noe led SEMO with 18 points, her season high. She drained four 3-point buckets in the game bringing her to 80 in her career and tying her for 10th on SEMO's top-10 list. Bri Mitchell and Olivia Hackmann were the other two Redhawks to reach double-figure scoring, each contributing 14 points in the contest. They each had six field goals with Hackmann adding two from downtown. Mandy Madden led the Redhawks in rebounding, tying a season high with 12. Eight of her 12 came on the offensive end of the court. Adrianna Murphy set a career-high with 11 boards on Tuesday. Reversely, seven of hers were on the defensive end of the court. Deja Jones played 18 minutes off the bench and fell just short of a double-double, finishing with nine rebounds (ties season high) and eight points. Jones grabbed seven offensive boards for the Redhawks.
 
Wiping the Glass
With Tuesday's 59-rebound performance against Lipscomb, the Redhawks have skyrocketed into the top-10 nationally in the category, now ranking ninth with 427 total rebounds. Prior to Tuesday's game, the Redhawks ranked 22nd in the country. 
 
Depth in Numbers
The Redhawks' bench is currently averaging 28 points a game, 10.6 more than its opponents' benches. SEMO's bench is responsible for 36.5% of the team's total scoring. Hannah Noe leads the team with 9.7 points off the bench. The bench has scored 30 or more points in four games, going 3-1 in those games. Three players have come off the bench in all 10 games while six are averaging double-digit minutes. 
 
Redhawks for THREE!! 
As a team, Southeast Missouri ranks eighth nationally in 3-point field goals made (83) and 12th in 3-point field goal percentage (.409). In the OVC, the Redhawks rank second behind Belmont in 3-pointers made but lead in 3-point shooting. Hannah Noe's 30 3-pointers rank 14th in the country, second in the league. Noe has 80 career made 3-pointers, tying her for 10th in Southeast's career top-10 list with Bailie Roberts (2009-13). The Redhawks' 16 3-pointers against Stephens (Dec. 4) ranks tied for seventh-most in Division I this season. 
 
Help! I Need Somebody
Sophomore point guard Adrianna Murphy currently leads the nation with 71 assists this season. Her 7.1 assists per game ranks 12th. Murphy has had two double-digit assist performances this season including a career-high 14. Her 14-assist game is the sixth most in an NCAA game this season. Bri Mitchell's 51 assists ranks 26th nationally. As a team, the Redhawks rank seventh in the nation with 175 total assists. 
 
Eyes on a Grand
Olivia Hackmann is quickly approaching one thousand points in her career. She has 933 so far, needing only 67 more. Bri Mitchell is also well on her way with 845 career points. There are 16 total members of Southeast's 1,000-point club, only seven of which have come in the Division I era. Sonya Daugherty and Tarina Nixon (2005-09) were the last inducted into the club.
