JONESBORO, Ark. - Southeast Missouri (0-3) fell to Arkansas State (1-2) by a score of 6-1 Friday afternoon at Allen Park
Senior Melissa Martin scored Southeast's only point at No. 6 singles. Martin rallied from behind to win the last two sets in a three-set 3-6, 6-3, 10-7 win over Sofia Krsmanovic. The Redhawks fell in straight sets at each of the other five singles positions.
In doubles, Mariya Kostyuk and Viviana Ortiz defeated Julie Gauguery and Victoria Pisanti, 6-3, at No. 1. Kostyuk and Ortiz improved to 2-1 in No. 1 doubles this season. ASU then won the No. 2 and No. 3 spots to get the point.
Southeast returns to action at Central Arkansas Saturday.
