Series HistorySoutheast and UT Martin are deadlocked at 15-15 in their all-time series. The Redhawks go for their second-straight win in the series after beating the Skyhawks, 31-27, to open Ohio Valley Conference play last season. Southeast has not beaten UTM in back-to-back years since 2003 (20-7) and 2004 (35-7). The Skyhawks have won eight of the last 10 meetings between these teams and came away with a win in four of their last five trips to Houck Stadium.
Finish StrongThe Redhawks, who have won two of their last three games, look to end a season on a positive note. Southeast last finished a season with a win when it defeated Austin Peay, 33-30, in Clarksville on Nov. 22, 2008. The last time the Redhawks ended a season with a win at home was on Nov. 17, 2007 when they beat Jacksonville State, 32-25.

Sanders Rips Off Longest Kickoff ReturnFreshman
Cameron Sanders returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown with 10:10 remaining in the fourth quarter against Jacksonville State (Nov. 14). Sanders' kickoff return was the longest in school history and the longest in the Ohio Valley Conference this season. He is the third OVC player to return a kickoff for a touchdown this year, joining Murray State's Janawski Davis and Eastern Illinois' Tray Mitchell. Sanders finished with 156 kick return yards against the Gamecocks. Sanders' 99-yard return surpassed the Redhawks previous record of 97 yards by David Jackson vs. Abilene Christian on Oct. 12, 1985. In addition, Sanders was the first Southeast player to run back a kickoff for a touchdown since
Spencer Davis ran 93 yards at Eastern Illinois on Oct. 19, 2013.
Eight More to 100Linebacker
Roper Garrett had a game-high 12 tackles at Jacksonville State (Nov. 14), and as a result, moved closer to 100 this season. Garrett, who leads the Redhawks and is tied for third in the Ohio Valley Conference with 92 stops, needs eight more to get 100. He and two other OVC players, including Eastern Illinois' Seth McDonald (99) and Tennessee Tech's Jay Rudwall (92) are on the verge of hitting the 100-tackle mark. Right now, TTU linebacker Tra'Darius Goff (116) is the only OVC player with over 100 tackles this season. Linebacker Blake Peiffer was the last Redhawk to record 100 or more tackles in a season when he finished with 117 in 2012.
Closing InTremane McCullough needs just 73 yards to get 1,000 this season. Mullough has 927 yards and is averaging 5.9 yards per carry this year. Southeast has not had a 1,000-yard rusher in a season since 2012 (Levi Terrell, 1,349 yds). Jacksonville State's Troymaine Pope (1,014) is the only running back in the OVC over 1,000 yards this year. McCullough is also 46 yards away from cracking Southeast's all-time single-season leaders.
Lloyd Eyes 1,000Starting wide receiver
Peter Lloyd is only three receiving yards away from getting 1,000 in his career. Lloyd is third on the team with 131 receiving yards on 21 catches this year. He has 89 receptions for 997 yards and five touchdowns in his career.
What a RushSoutheast is second in the Ohio Valley Conference in rushing with an average of 186.5 yards per game. The Redhawks have 16 rushing touchdowns through 10 games this season. Southeast's rushing offense is also 37th in the Football Championship Subdivision.
No Pick Streak True freshman quarterback
Dante Vandeven went his fourth-straight start without throwing an interception when he completed 19-of-35 passes for a career-high 239 yards and a touchdown at Jacksonville State (Nov. 14). Vandeven has thrown 154-consecutive passes without a pick. He last threw an interception during Southeast's second drive of the game at Eastern Illinois on Oct. 10.

Dante Vandeven and
Cameron Sanders were recognized by the Ohio Valley Conference on Nov. 15. Vandeven was named the adidas® OVC Newcomer of the Week and Sanders was voted the league's Specialist of the Week. A native of nearby Jackson, Vandeven completed 19-of-35 passes for a career-high 239 yards and a touchdown, and ran for 29 yards and another TD at No. 1 Jacksonville State on Nov. 14. He completed a pass to five different receivers against the Gamecocks. Vandeven tied the game at 7-7 on a 3-yard run with 10:36 left to play in the second quarter and threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to
Darrius Darden-Box with 4:34 remaining in the fourth quarter. He has thrown a touchdown pass in five of his last six starts. The OVC Newcomer of the Week honor marked Vandeven's second this season. Sanders, who hails from Memphis, Tennessee, ran back a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown with 10:10 left to play in the fourth quarter against JSU. Sanders' 99-yard kickoff return was the longest in Southeast history and longest in the OVC this season. He is the third player to return a kick for a touchdown in the OVC this year, joining Murray State's Janawski Davis and Eastern Illinois' Tray Mitchell. McCullough Second in OVC in RushingNewcomer
Tremane McCullough enters the final week of the season ranked second in the Ohio Valley Conference and 25th in the nation with 92.7 rushing yards per game. His 927 rushing yards are also second in the league and rank 21st in the FCS. McCullough has five 100-yard rushing games this season, most in the OVC.
100-Yard Receiving GameNewcomer
Tremane McCullough had a career-high six catches for 104 yards out of the backfield against Jacksonville State (Nov. 14). McCullough had a career-long 56-yard reception and his performance marked the Redhawks fourth 100-yard receiving game this year.

Dante Vandeven enters the week ranked second in the Ohio Valley Conference in completion percentage. Vandeven has completed 63.5 percent (134-of-211) of his passes for 1,342 yards and nine touchdowns this year. He is also 22nd in the Football Championship Subdivision in that category. Vandeven ranks among OVC leaders in passing average (5th, 167.8 ypg) and pass efficiency (6th, 127.2), as well. He has thrown a touchdown pass in six of his eight games under center this year.
McRoberts Does it AllPaul McRoberts made his debut as a kick returner at Jacksonville State (Nov. 14). McRoberts ran back four kickoffs for 78 yards, averaging 19.5 per return. He is Southeast's top receiver and punt return man through 10 games this season. McRoberts has caught 66 passes for 813 yards and seven touchdowns, and returned 12 punts for 151 yards and a TD. He leads the Ohio Valley Conference and ranks eighth in the nation in punt returns with an average of 12.6 yards per return.
Road to Another MilestonePaul McRoberts needs 187 receiving yards to reach 1,000 this season. McRoberts currently ranks fifth in the Ohio Valley Conference with 813 receiving yards behind Tennessee State's Patrick Smith (933), UT Martin's Rod Wright (936) and Murray State's Paul Rice (826) and Jeremy Harness (825). He is also tied for third in the league with seven touchdown receptions, third in receptions per game (6.6) and fifth in receiving yards per game (81.3) through 10 starts this year. If McRoberts hits the mark, he will become the first Southeast player to notch 1,000 receiving yards in a season since Willie Ponder set the school's all-time single-season record with 1,453 yards in 2002.
Takeaway TurnaroundAfter finishing its 2014 season last in the Ohio Valley Conference in turnover margin (-9), Southeast enters this week ranked first in the league and seventh in the nation at +11. The Redhawks had a season-high seven takeaways (4 fumbles, 3 interceptions) in a mammoth effort against Southern Illinois (Sept. 12). It was Southeast's most takeaways in a game since getting six vs. Mars Hill College on Sept. 8, 2012. The Redhawks have a total of 19 takeaways this year and forced a turnover in 13 of their previous 15 contests dating back to last season. Southeast won the turnover battle in three-straight games.
Sack AttackSoutheast recorded a total of 14 sacks in its last three games. The Redhawks lead the Ohio Valley Conference and rank 11th in the nation with 29 sacks in 10 games. Southeast tallied 20 sacks in a season for the first time since 2007. In addition, the 29 sacks are the Redhawks most in a season since they had 23 in 2006. Man With a PurposeTremane McCullough ranks second in the Ohio Valley Conference and 24th in the nation in all-purpose yardage. McCullough currently has 1,309 yards and is averaging 120.9 yards per game. He needs 78 more yards to crack Southeast's all-time single-season list.
Games With a CatchPaul McRoberts has gone 17-consecutive games with a catch. McRoberts has 165 catches for 2,308 yards and 28 touchdowns (27 receiving) in 38 games and 27 starts. The last time McRoberts went without a catch was at Jacksonville State on Nov. 23, 2013.
Knight Fifth in FCS in PuntingThe Ohio Valley Conference's top punter,
Alex Knight is fifth in the Football Championship Subdivision in punting with 44.9 yards per punt. Fifteen of Knight's punts have travelled 50 or more yards with 27 falling inside the 20-yard line. His 44.9 yards per punt average currently ranks second on Southeast's all-time single-season list. In addition, Knight (6,076) is over 6,000 punting yards in his career, ranking sixth at Southeast in that category.
About UT MartinUT Martin comes to Cape Girardeau currently third in the Ohio Valley Conference standings with an overall record of 6-4 and 5-2 in league play. UTM has won five of its last six OVC games after opening conference play with a 48-41 loss to #1 Jacksonville State (Sept. 26). The Skyhawks boast the league's second-best scoring offense with 36.2 points per game. UTM also leads the OVC in sacks allowed, yielding only eight in 10 games this year. In addition, the Skyhawks top the conference in third-down conversions at 47.5 percent (75-of-158). Quarterback Jarod Neal ranks second in passing yards per game (295.3). Trent Garland is among the league's top rushers, ranking seventh with 59.6 yards per contest. Meanwhile, Rod Wright has scored a league-high 76 points and 12 touchdowns. Defensively, Damani Taylor is tied for third in the conference with 5.5 sacks.
