PDF VersionMARTIN, Tenn. - Southeast Missouri (9-7, 3-2) dropped a 6-1 decision against UT Martin (5-8, 2-3) Wednesday in Ohio Valley Conference action.
Southeast scored its only point with a win at the No. 6 singles position.
Melissa Martin defeated Katie McCall, 6-1, 6-1, in that spot. The Redhawks had three other close bouts in singles play, as
Valeriia Kashina,
Valeriia Nagovitcina and
Annisa Warasanti came up short in three sets. Kashina lost to Ivon Simic, 6-7, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 1, Nagovitcina fell to Hitomi Naito, 6-3, 5-7, 6-1, at No. 2 and Warasanti was defeated by Jessica Silva, 6-2, 6-7, 7-6, at No. 5.
UTM won the doubles point with victories at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions.
Southeast returns to action when it hosts SIU Edwardsville on Apr. 5.
