CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri Director of Athletics
Mark Alnutt has been appointed to serve a four-year term on the NCAA Football Playing Rules Committee, effective Sept. 1, 2014.
The Football Rules Committee is made up of coaches and administrators from all levels of the NCAA. It is comprised of 13 members. The mission of the NCAA Football Rules Committee is to govern the playing rules of collegiate football by: Acknowledging the traditions of the sport; Soliciting input from the various college constituencies; Examining existing regulations and making necessary modifications to create safe, practical, concise and enforceable rules; and Influencing the long term vision and direction of NCAA football.
"I'm very appreciative to serve on the NCAA Football Rules Committee while representing Southeast Missouri State, the Ohio Valley Conference and FCS Football," said Alnutt. "I believe that it is the committee's responsibility to continue to ensure that NCAA football is an exciting product for the fans and promote fairness in competition while making sure that we have the student-athlete's safety as one of our top priorities. I look forward to begin working with the other committee members in September."
Alnutt, who is in his second year as Southeast's Director of Athletics, also serves on the NCAA Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee.
