Nino Johnson added a double-double 13 points and 14 rebounds to lead Southeast Missouri to a 97-69 win over Missouri Baptist Monday night in exhibition action at the Show Me Center.

Southeast shot over 50 percent (50.7) from the field and had five players reach double figures in its balanced effort.

"Obviously, we have a lot to improve on, but I was pleased with our attitude and effort," said Southeast head coach
Dickey Nutt. "I thought we were better defensively and that we have a chance to be a very good team."

James King's jumper gave MBU its only lead of the game at 7-5 with 16:30 left in the first half before Southeast put the pedal down and cruised to victory.

Antonius Cleveland made a layup to open an 11-2 run to grow the Redhawks lead to double-digits. He also knocked down a three, while Johnson contributed four points during that stretch.
Marcus Wallace's layup capped the surge, giving Southeast a 22-10 lead with 10:52 remaining.

The Redhawks then kept their lead at double-digits the rest of the way.

Isiah Jones sunk two free throws and Wallace buried a three-pointer to give Southeast an 18-point advantage on two occasions before Southeast went into the locker room with a comfortable 53-37 lead.

Southeast shot 60 percent (18-of-30) from the field in the first half, which saw nine different Redhawks get in the scoring column. Cleveland did not miss a field goal, hitting a perfect 5-of-5 en route to 13 first-half points.

The Redhawks continued to pour it on in the second half.

Southeast started the final period with an 18-7 run over the first 5:23 to push its lead to 71-44. Jones nailed his second three-pointer, while Langford and Johnson entertained the crowd with some thunderous dunks.

J.T. Jones gave Southeast its biggest lead of the night when he scored on a layup to make it 84-51 at the 8:14 mark.

Jones also hit the Redhawks final shot of the evening on a three-pointer with 47 seconds to go.

Langford shot 7-of-12 from the field and added four rebounds, while Johnson made 4-of-8 field goals and 5-of-9 free throws in 26 minutes.
J.T. Jones pitched in 14 points off the bench, Cleveland finished with 13 points and I. Jones collected 12.

Stephen Buckner led all MBU scorers with 17 points.

Southeast manhandled the Spartans underneath. The Redhawks outscored MBU, 42-12, inside the paint and held a 41-11 advantage in points off turnovers. Southeast forced 26 turnovers and held won, 23-7, in second chance points.

The Redhawks will host Fontbonne in one final exhibition tune-up Saturday. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m., CT.
