Redhawks Head to Tennessee State
Southeast Missouri (0-4, 0-1) resumes Ohio Valley Conference play this week when it heads to Tennessee State (4-1, 1-0) Saturday. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m., CT, at LP Field.

Southeast Drops OVC Opener
Southeast opened its Ohio Valley Conference schedule with a 17-7 loss to No. 23 UT Martin on Sept. 28. The Redhawks, who played at Houck Stadium for the first time this season, trailed, 17-0, at halftime. Southeast dropped to 2-6 all-time in OVC openers under head coach Tony Samuel. The Redhawks also fell to 14-9 in home-openers since joining the Football Championship Subdivision.

Series History
Tennessee State holds a slight 11-10 advantage in the overall series against Southeast. TSU, which beat the Redhawks each of the last two years, won three of the previous four meetings between these teams. Southeast is 2-7 against the Tigers in Nashville. The Redhawks lost, 55-3, the last time they faced TSU at LP Field on Oct. 8, 2011.

Nice Defense
Southeast held an opponent scoreless in the second half for the second time this season. The Redhawks held UT Martin to only three first downs and 86 total yards in the final two quarters. Southeast also shutout Ole Miss in the second half on Sept. 7.

Coleman Finds the End Zone
Fullback Ron Coleman rushed for 40 yards and scored Southeast's only touchdown against UT Martin (Sept. 28). Coleman scored on a 2-yard run in the fourth quarter. It marked his first touchdown since the final game of the 2012 season (at Murray State, Nov. 17).

Lathrop Steps Up
Quarterback Scott Lathrop ran for 64 yards and completed 8-of-16 passes for 71 yards against UT Martin (Sept. 28). Lathrop accumulated 135 yards of total offense, as his 64 rushing yards were his most in a game since gaining 119 at Murray State on Nov. 17, 2012. Two of Lathrop's carries went for 24 or more yards. His 30-yard run in the fourth quarter was the Redhawks second-longest this season.

Fourth Quarter Score
Ron Coleman's 2-yard touchdown marked Southeast's first points in the fourth quarter through four games this season. The Redhawks were outscored 28-0 in the fourth quarter prior to Coleman's TD.

Multiple Takeaways
The Redhawks forced multiple turnovers for the third-straight game when they had an interception and fumble recovery against UT Martin (Sept. 28). Reggie Jennings had his first interception and freshman John Popovich recovered his first career fumble in that game. Southeast had two interceptions against Southern Illinois (Sept. 21) and an interception and two fumble recoveries at Ole Miss (Sept. 7). The Redhawk defense has forced multiple turnovers in 10 of its last 15 contests.

Possession Advantage

Southeast owns a +4:24 margin in time of possession. Additionally, the Redhawks had the ball six minutes more than their opponent each of the first two games this year.

Davis Sees Doubles
