Away From Home
Southeast played its first three games outside of Cape Girardeau this season. The Redhawks played at Southeastern Louisiana (Aug. 29), at Ole Miss (Sept. 7) and recently faced regional-rival Southern Illinois (Sept. 21) at Busch Stadium. Southeast and Austin Peay are the only Ohio Valley Conference schools which didn't play a home game four weeks into the 2013 season.

Ohio Valley Conference Openers
The Redhawks are 6-16 all-time in Ohio Valley Conference openers. This year marks only the second time Southeast faces UT Martin to begin league play. The last time these teams met in a conference-opener was during the Redhawks first NCAA Division I season. The Skyhawks won that game, 36-29, on Sept. 7, 1991 in Martin. Southeast starts its OVC schedule at home for the second-straight year.

Samuel in OVC Openers
Southeast is 2-5 in Ohio Valley Conference openers under head coach Tony Samuel. The Redhawks gave Samuel his first win in a league-opener at Houck Stadium with a thrilling 41-38 double overtime victory over Tennessee Tech on Sept. 22, 2012. Southeast will look to open OVC play with a win in back-to-back seasons for the first time with Samuel at the helm.

Redhawks in Home-Openers
The Redhawks own a 14-8 record in home-openers since joining the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision in 1991. Southeast is 6-1 all-time in home-openers under head coach Tony Samuel.

Series History
The all-time series between Southeast and UT Martin stands tied at 14-14. The Skyhawks have won seven of the last eight meetings. UTM went 3-1 in its previous four trips to Cape Girardeau. The Skyhawks beat the Redhawks, 27-17, at Houck Stadium on Oct. 20, 2012.

McRoberts Has Big Performance
Southeast sophomore wide receiver Paul McRoberts had a huge day in his return to his hometown on Sept. 21. A native of St. Louis, McRoberts hauled in a game-high five catches for 133 yards and two touchdowns against Southern Illinois in the first NCAA football game at Busch Stadium. He averaged 26.6 yards per catch and scored on a 75-yard touchdown reception to tie the game at 19-19 midway through the third quarter. McRoberts currently ranks fifth in the Ohio Valley Conference with 71.7 receiving yards per game. He has caught 11 passes for a team-high 215 yards and two touchdowns through three starts this season.

Longest Play to Date
Kyle Snyder's 75-yard touchdown pass to Paul McRoberts marked the longest scoring play of the season to date. Snyder hit McRoberts in stride midway through the third quarter against Southern Illinois (Sept. 21). The 75-yard reception tied for the sixth longest in school history.

Snyder Stays Sharp
Kyle Snyder, who did not play due to a shoulder injury at Ole Miss, returned under center against Southern Illinois (Sept. 21). Snyder completed 17-of-33 passes for 249 yards and three touchdowns in his second start this season. His 249 passing yards were the most by a Redhawk quarterback since Houston Lillard threw for 331 yards vs. Missouri State on Sept. 20, 2008.

Kargbo Leads Redhawk Defense
Free safety Ben Kargbo leads Southeast and stands tied for second in the Ohio Valley Conference with 27 tackles this season. Kargbo, who is averaging nine per game, also has one pass breakup on the year.

Siendel Picks it Up
Southeast linebacker Daniel Siehndel recorded his team-high second interception against Southern Illinois (Sept. 21). Siehndel, who also has 11 tackles this season, is tied for second in the Ohio Valley Conference in interceptions. As a team, Southeast has three picks this year.

Number 250
The Southern Illinois matchup on Sept. 21 marked Southeast's 250th game as an NCAA Division I football program. The 2013 campaign is the Redhawks 23rd at the Football Championship Subdivision level. Southeast is 86-164 (.344) since its move to the FCS in 1991.

Sack Production
The Redhawks have five sacks in two games, and as a result, are approaching their season total from 2012. Southeast has dropped quarterbacks for a loss of 36 yards. The Redhawks had just eight sacks for a loss of 58 yards a year ago and haven't recorded 10 or more sacks in a season since 2010 (14 for a loss of 99 yards).

Southeast vs. Ranked FCS Foes
Ohio Valley Conference rival UT Martin is the first ranked Football Championship Subdivision opponent Southeast will square off against this season. The 23rd-ranked Skyhawks cracked the Sports Network's Top-25 poll after defeating then-No. 7 Central Arkansas on Sept. 14. The Redhawks are 2-14 all-time against ranked FCS opponents since 2004.

Samuel and Simpson
Southeast's Tony Samuel and UT Martin's Jason Simpson are currently the longest tenured head coaches in the Ohio Valley Conference. Samuel and Simpson are both in their eighth season at their respective institutions. Samuel is 28-54 overall and 17-38 in the OVC at Southeast, while Simpson is 45-34 overall and 35-20 in conference play at UT Martin.

Low Scoring Teams
UT Martin and Southeast rank seventh and eighth in the Ohio Valley Conference in scoring, respectively. The Skyhawks, who have beaten two ranked opponents (#24 Chattanooga; #7 Central Arkansas) this season, are averaging 23 points per game. Meanwhile, the Redhawks are scoring 13 points per contest. Southeast has gone scoreless in the fourth quarter (28-0) through its first three games, as well.

I Think I'll Pass
Southeast has more passing touchdowns (5)than it does rushing TDs (1) just three games into the 2013 season. The Redhawks went 18-straight games with a rushing touchdown prior to their matchup against the Rebels. Southeast has gone two-straight games without a rushing touchdown.

Multiple Takeaways
The Redhawks forced multiple turnovers for the second-straight game when they had two interceptions against Southern Illinois (Sept. 21). Daniel Siehndel and Buck Wilson accounted for those picks. Prior to that, Southeast recorded three takeaways, including two in the second half, at Ole Miss (Sept. 7). Siehndel had his first career interception, while Cantrell Andrews and Travis Sanders each recovered fumbles. Sanders, who also had a sack and forced fumble against the Rebels, recovered a fumble twice this season. The Redhawk defense has forced multiple turnovers in nine of its last 14 contests.
