CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - JJ Jude ran for 114 yards and a touchdown, and Eastern Kentucky (5-3, 3-1) scored the game's first 24 points en route to a 31-7 win over Southeast Missouri (1-7, 1-4) Saturday afternoon at Missouri National Guard Field/Houck Stadium.

Southeast fell to 11-12 all-time in Homecoming games since moving to the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision.

Jude scored the game's first touchdown on a 28-yard run to give EKU a 7-0 lead with 11:44 left to play in the first quarter.

A 44-yard field goal by Andrew Lloyd capped a 14-play, 72-yard drive for the Colonels with 10:38 remaining in the second quarter.

After Southeast punted, EKU used a 45-yard touchdown pass from Jared McClain to Ike Ariguzo on the third play of its next drive. Ariguzo's TD pushed the Colonels lead to 17-0 with just under eight minutes left.

The Redhawks faced a 2nd-and-5 at the EKU-41 when Scott Lathrop fumbled the ball and Marquise Piton recovered.

EKU then lined up for a field goal on a 4th-and-6 at the Southeast-25. Jordan Berry, however, took the snap and dashed 25 yards for a touchdown to grab the Colonels a comfortable 24-0 advantage at the half.

Southeast's lone touchdown of the day came on a 23-yard pass from Lathrop to Paul McRoberts late in the third quarter. The score polished off a drive which covered 56 yards in 11 plays.

McClain's 1-yard touchdown run just 21 seconds into the fourth quarter marked the end of the scoring.

Jude carried the ball 20 times and averaged 5.7 yards per carry to lead EKU. McClain also completed 7-of-12 passes for 120 yards and a touchdown. The Colonels outgained the Redhawks, 333-320, with 213 of their yards coming on the ground.

Lathrop completed 16-of-22 passes for 150 yards and a touchdown. He also fumbled two times, once inside the Colonels 5-yardline.

DeMichael Jackson added 98 yards on 23 carries and McRoberts contributed a game-high five catches for 69 yards.

Spencer Davis, who picked up 152 all-purpose yards, broke Southeast's all-time career record in kick return yardage. Davis now has 2,033 kick return yards as he surpassed David Jackson (1,938 yards from 1983-86) for the new mark. He returned five kickoffs for 98 yards and officially broke the record on the game's opening kick.

Defensively, Michael Holt led the Redhawks with eight tackles, including one for loss.

Southeast had 170 yards rushing, as well.

The Redhawks continue their three-game homestand when they step out of Ohio Valley Conference play to host Division II Urbana University on Nov. 2.
