CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri hired Jake Dickert as its defensive backs coach Wednesday.
Dickert spent the 2011 season as secondary coach/special teams coordinator at the University of South Dakota. Prior to that, he was a member of the North Dakota State coaching staff for three years.
While at North Dakota State, Dickert worked with the safeties and was involved in recruiting and assisting with special teams. He was also a defensive graduate assistant at Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
A native of Kohler, Wis., Dickert played quarterback at UW-Stevens Point from 2002-04 and wide receiver from 2005-06. He was an all-conference wide receiver.
Dickert graduated from UW-Stevens Point in 2007 with a degree in math education. He earned a master's degree there in 2009.
Dickert and his wife, Candice, have a daughter, Rylee.
