Trojans Pull Away from Redhawks, 16-2, for Series Split

Arkansas-Little Rock scored in every inning but the first to split the two-game set at Capaha Field.

Kody Campbell's sacrifice fly brought the Redhawks within a run against the Trojans on Wednesday, but it was the final run the Redhawks scored in a 16-2 setback.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. –
Arkansas-Little Rock, the nation's second highest scoring team showed its offensive prowess in dealing the Southeast Missouri baseball team a 16-2 loss at Capaha Field on Wednesday.

The Trojans jumped out to an early 3-0 lead on Southeast. UALR added two runs in the top of the second before the hour lightning delay, as they added their third run in the top of the third.

The Redhawks pulled within a run at 3-2 in the bottom of the third when Trenton Moses singled home Kenton Parmley. Kody Campbell followed that up with a sacrifice fly.

The Trojans' offense stayed hot, scoring another run in the fourth inning before batting around in the fifth and sixth innings, tallying six and four runs respectively. UALR plated two more in the top of the seventh to cap the scoring.

Zack Smith (1-4) picked up the loss for Southeast throwing two innings allowing two unearned runs on two hits. Michael Patman, Grant Davis, Cody Spanberger and Dylan Lynn all saw time out of the Southeast bullpen.
 
Parmley led the Redhawk offense going 2-for-4 on the afternoon. He extended his hitting streak to 25 games and his reaching base safely streak to 34 games. Moses add a hit extending his reaching base safely streak to 39 games.
 
Ethan Schlechte (1-0) earned the win for UALR going 4.1 innings allowing only two runs.
 
Shortstop Greg Garcia paced the Trojans going 3-for-6 with four RBI. Kaleb Jobe added three hits as well with four runs scored.
 
The Redhawks head to New Mexico State this weekend to take on the Aggies. Friday's first pitch is set for 7:05 p.m., CT. The series was adjusted as the two teams will now play a Saturday doubleheader that is set for 4:05 p.m., CT.
