CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Tyshwan Edmondson scored a game-high 25 points and drained six three-pointers to lead Austin Peay (12-19, 8-8) to a 68-59 win over Southeast Missouri (14-15, 9-7) Saturday night in the regular-season finale for both teams.

Southeast, which lost its fourth-straight game, suffered its 13th-consecutive loss in Clarksville since last beating the Governors at the Dunn Center on Dec. 3, 1998.

The Redhawks will make their 11th trip to the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament next week. Southeast, which is the No. 5 seed, will face No. 8 Eastern Kentucky in the first round on Feb. 29. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m., CT, at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium.

No. 1 Murray State, No. 2 Tennessee State, No. 3 Morehead State, No. 4 Tennessee Tech, No. 6 Austin Peay and No. 7 Jacksonville State complete the 2012 OVC Tournament field.

Edmondson, after scoring just six points in the first half, caught fire to score 19 on 5-of-6 field goals and a perfect 4-of-4 three-pointers in the final period.

Josh Terry's layup gave APSU its first lead of the game at 26-25 just 18 seconds into the second half.

After Marland Smith made a layup and a free throw to narrow the Governors lead to 41-40 with 10:35 left, Edmondson answered with a three. That shot led to a 10-point swing for Edmondson alone, as he added four free throws and buried another three-pointer -- after Southeast pulled to within one again -- to give APSU a 51-50 edge at the 5:36 mark.

Twenty-one seconds later, Nick Niemczyk's two free throws put Southeast ahead, 52-51, but APSU countered with a 16-7 run in the last 5:15 to put the Redhawks away.

Southeast built an eight-point lead in the opening 9:16 of the game.

Niemczyk buried a three on the Redhawks first possession before Leon Powell and Smith each scored back-to-back buckets to help key the early surge. Corey Wilford's layup off a Lucas Nutt pass gave Southeast a 15-7 advantage with 10:44 left.

Tyler Stone later threw down a two-handed dunk off an alley-oop pass from Nutt on a fastbreak to give Southeast a 22-16 lead after the Governors pulled to within four.

APSU then scored eight of the last 11 points of the half to cut Southeast's lead to 25-24 at the break. Edmondson tossed in a three-pointer from the top of the key and John Fraley converted a conventional three-point play in the last 1:21 of the opening stanza.

Edmondson finished at 7-of-11 from the field, 6-of-7 from three-point range and 5-of-6 at the free throw line.

Melvin Baker, who scored 10 of APSU's first 13 points of the game, followed with 22 points, while Fraley chipped in 10 rebounds.

APSU heated up to shoot 63.2 percent (12-of-19) in the second half.

Powell led Southeast with a double-double 16 points and 10 rebounds. It was his seventh double-double this season and 13th of his career. He shot 7-of-12 from the field, dished out one assist, added a block and had three steals, as well.

Stone and Smith also scored double-digits with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
