Softball Heads to Memphis for Blues City Classic

The Southeast Missouri softball team heads to Memphis to compete in the Blues City Classic.
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – The Southeast Missouri softball team will travel to Memphis, Tenn. on Friday to participate in the Blues City Classic hosted by the University of Memphis. The three-day, six-team tournament will be held at the Tiger Softball Complex. The Redhawks begin tournament play with a doubleheader Friday evening against Miami (Ohio) at 5:00 p.m. and Western Illinois immediately following.
A total of 15 games will be played with five games on Friday, six on Saturday, and the final four on Sunday.
The Redhawks enter the tournament with a 4-2 overall record. The Redhawks won the ULM Mardi Gras Classic two weeks ago after going 4-1 in the tournament. Senior infielder Renee Kertz was named tournament Most Valuable Player. Alora Marble, Shea Cothren, and Lindsey Patterson each earned All-Tournament honors.
