The Redhawks only win vs. the Colonels on their home field was in 2010 (40-21) during the year they won the conference title and made the NCAA Playoffs.
Redhawks vs. Ranked FCS Teams
No. 23/25 Eastern Kentucky is the second ranked Football Championship Subdivision opponent to visit Houck Stadium this season. Southeast is 2-13 vs. ranked FCS foes since 2004. The Redhawks fell to then-No. 18 Tennessee State, 40-28, on Oct. 13. This year marks the first where EKU comes to town as a Top-25 opponent.
Terrell Closing in on 1,000 Yards
Levi Terrell is Southeast's leading rusher with 981 yards on 168 carries this season. He has scored four rushing touchdowns and is averaging nearly six yards (5.8) per carry. Terrell enters this week's game needing just 19 to get 1,000 this year. Tennessee State's Trabis Ward (1,205) and Eastern Kentucky's Matt Denham (1,073) are currently the only 1,000-yard rushers in the Ohio Valley Conference this season. Henry Harris was the last Southeast player to get 1,000 rushing yard in a season when he finished with 1,735 in 2010.
Peiffer Eyes 100 Tackles
Southeast linebacker
Blake Peiffer is on pace to get 100 tackles in a season for the second-straight year. Peiffer, who currently has a team-high 88 tackles, recorded 10 or more a total of 15 times in his career. He has posted double-digit tackles in 13 of his last 17 starts. Peiffer set the school's single-season record with 151 stops in 2011. Adam Casper (108 in 2006; 112 in 2007) was the last Southeast player to get 100 tackles in back-to-back seasons. Peiffer ranks second in the Ohio Valley Conference and 13th in the nation in tackles through eight starts this year.
