Scheible Approaching History
Senior Matt Scheible is on pace to become the first quarterback in Ohio Valley Conference history to throw for 4,000 yards and rush for 2,000 yards in a career. Scheible currently has 1,983 rushing yards and 3,892 passing yards. He is in position to reach both of those milestones at Tennessee State Saturday.

Another Record in Reach
Matt Scheible could also break Southeast's career record in total offense against Tennessee State this weekend. Scheible (5,875) needs just 61 yards to accomplish the feat. He presently ranks second behind Jeff Brown (5,935 yards, 1983-87).

Redhawks Nab First Win
Southeast earned its first win of the season with a 37-30 victory over Eastern Illinois at Houck Stadium on Oct. 1. The Redhawks posted season-highs in rushing yards (411) and total offense (541 yards) against the Panthers. The Redhawks also snapped a five-game losing streak dating back to Nov. 13, 2010.

Klaproth Hits 200 Career Tackles
Senior LB Philip Klaproth became the 21st Redhawk defender to get 200 career tackles when he finished with five against Eastern Illinois (Oct. 1). Klaproth has made at least one tackle in 38 of his 39 career games.

100-Yard Man
Junior RB Levi Terrell has rushed for over 100 yards in two-straight games. Terrell ran for 154 yards and three touchdowns at Tennessee Tech (Sept. 24) before posting 106 rushing yards vs. Eastern Illinois (Oct. 1).

Scheible Named OVC Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Southeast Missouri QB Matt Scheible was named Ohio Valley Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 2. A native of Washington, Mo., Scheible accounted for 291 yards of total offense and all five of Southeast's touchdowns as the Redhawks won for the first time this season with a 37-30 victory over Eastern Illinois. Scheible ran for a career-high 161 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries. He averaged 8.5 yards per carry and broke free for a 71-yard touchdown run during the opening drive of the third quarter to help the Redhawks pull away for good. Scheible added an 18-  yard rushing TD with 1:55 left to play in the game.In addition, Scheible completed 14-of-18 passes for 130 yards and three touchdowns, including two to D.J. Foster. Scheible garnered one of the league's weekly honors for the fourth time in his career.

Foster Emerges as Playmaker at Wide Receiver
Six or more receivers have caught a pass in each of Southeast's last two games. D.J. Foster has been most active over that span. Foster caught a career-high seven passes for 115 yards at Tennessee Tech (Sept. 24). A week later, he made three catches for 56 yards and a career-high two touchdowns in his first start of the season vs. Eastern Illinois (Oct. 1).

Peiffer Sees Doubles
Junior middle LB Blake Peiffer is on a tear this season. Peiffer leads the Ohio Valley Conference and ranks tied for fifth in the nation with 12 tackles per game. He has registered double-digit tackles in three of his four starts this season, with a career-high 17 coming at Tennessee Tech (Sept. 24). Peiffer recorded a total of 28 tackles in his last two starts alone.

Redhawks 12th Nationally in Rushing Offense
Southeast ranks second in the Ohio Valley Conference and 12th in the nation in rushing offense with 233.8 yards per game. The Redhawks averaged 365.5 rushing yards in their first two conference games this season.

Series History
Southeast owns a slight 10-9 advantage in its all-time series against Tennessee State. The Redhawks, who have won five of their last eight meetings with the Tigers, are 2-6 vs. TSU on the road. Southeast has dropped five-straight against TSU away from home and hasn't beaten the Tigers in Nashville since 1996. The Redhawks hung on for a 19-17 win over TSU in Cape Girardeau a year ago.
