You Can Do It
Senior
Matt Scheible is on pace to become the first quarterback in Ohio Valley Conference history to throw for 4,000 yards and rush for 2,000 yards in a career. Scheible currently has 1,979 rushing yards and 3,927 passing yards. He is in position to reach both of those milestones at Eastern Kentucky Saturday.
Total Package
Matt Scheible could also break Southeast's career record in total offense against Eastern Kentucky this weekend. Scheible (5,906) needs just 30 yards to accomplish the feat. He presently ranks second behind Jeff Brown (5,935 yards, 1983-87).
Man with a Purpose
Redshirt-freshman
Spencer Davis ranks second in the Ohio Valley Conference and 48th in the nation with 122.8 all-purpose yards per game. Davis has 428 kick return yards, 22 punt return yards and 41 receiving yards in four games this season.
On a Roll
Junior middle LB
Blake Peiffer is on a tear this season. Peiffer leads the Ohio Valley Conference and ranks sixth in the nation with 11.6 tackles per game. He has registered double-digit tackles in four of his five starts this season, including a career-high 17 at Tennessee Tech (Sept. 24). Peiffer recorded a total of 38 tackles in his last three starts alone.
Road Warriors
Southeast is on the road for four of its first six games this season. After Saturday, the Redhawks return to Cape Girardeau to play four of their final five games of the season.
Lewis Looking Good
True freshman QB
Trey Lewis led Southeast to its only score of the game at Tennessee State (Oct. 8). A native of nearby Sikeston, Mo., Lewis completed 2-of-5 passes for 35 yards and finished as the Redhawks top rusher with 37 yards on six carries. The scoring drive resulted in a 30-yard field goal by
Drew Geldbach with 6:51 left to play in the game.
Series History
Southeast is 3-18 all-time against Eastern Kentucky. The Redhawks are 2-9 vs. the Colonels at Roy Kidd Stadium. Southeast will look to end a three-game losing streak in Richmond after last winning there by a score of 41-38 in 2003.
