Head Coach John Ishee to Speak at TABC Spring Clinic

April 24, 2008

By Brett Maikowski, Sports Information Assistant

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (Thursday, April 24, 2008) - Redhawks women's basketball Head Coach John Ishee will be speaking at the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) Spring Clinic on Sunday, May 4. Located in Sugarland, Texas, TABC is the largest coaches association in the nation.

The TABC's purpose is simple: to promote basketball. It tries to promote basketball at all levels, including middle school and high school, by providing team updates throughout the basketball season to the entire state. They also have many other responsibilities, such as compiling Top Ten and Top 25 rankings for high school basketball, hosting annual clinics and camps, and providing job search services during the summer.

Coach Ishee will be attending as a keynote speaker, in which he will be speaking on the final day of the clinic on Sunday, May 4 at 11:45 a.m. He will also be the only coach from the state of Missouri speaking at the clinic.

Also scheduled to speak at the clinic are several other successful basketball coaches, including men's coaches Scott Drew of Baylor, Tom Crean of Indiana, and Brad Stevens of Butler University. Women's head coaches include Mike Carey of West Virginia and Gary Blair of Texas A&M.

"I'm really honored and excited about the opportunity to share Southeast Missouri State University and its women's basketball program with hundreds of high school, middle school, and junior high school coaches," said Coach Ishee.
