CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO. - The Southeast Missouri State University Gymnastics Team announced the signing of high school standout, Emily Mann, for the 2008-09 gymnastic season. Mann, a senior from Lincoln, Neb., has maintained a 3.957 GPA, earned the Top 3% Academic Award (2004-05) and is a member of the National Honor Roll.
Mann is a member of Solid Rock Gymnastics where she is coached by Danelle Catlett and was a member of the 2007 Junior Olympic Nationals (Senior C Division) third place squad. She has been qualified for the L10 National Championships the past two seasons after outstanding State (Nebraska) and Regional (IV) performances.
"Emily is what we look for in our students; great gymnastics and outstanding academics," said head coach Tom Farden. "She is a tough competitor that will be able to add depth on each event."
In 2006, Mann won the L10 Nebraska State Championships on bars and the balance beam while finishing second on the floor and all-around. The Region IV Championships also went well for Mann as she finished second overall on the uneven bars. In the 2007 L10 State Championships Mann finished third on the beam and all-around, while placing fourth on bars and fifth on vault.
Southeast is excited about the addition of Mann and looks forward to the academic and athletic success that she will bring to the University.
