Southeast Football Loses Lead In Loss at Tennessee-Martin

Martin, Tenn. - The Southeast Missouri State football team built up a 21-3 first half lead at Tennessee-Martin, but the Skyhawks scored three unanswered touchdowns in the second half to claim a 24-21 Ohio Valley Conference win.

Southeast, 1-8 overall and 1-5 in the OVC, scored on the first offensive play of the game when quarterback Mike Haley hit wide receiver T.J. Milcic with an 80-yard touchdown pass. After Tennessee-Martin came back with a field goal to narrow the margin to 7-3, freshman Tim Holloman scored on a 33-yard run to give Southeast a 14-3 after one quarter.

Late in the first half, Haley and Milcic again teamed up for a touchdown pass of 37 yards to give the Redhawks a 21-3 halftime lead.

The Skyhawks, 5-4 overall and 3-3 in the OVC, dominated play in the second half with Don Chapman scoring three touchdowns on runs of five, seven and one yard. On the day, Chapman had 35 carries for 107 yards. Meanwhile the UT-Martin defense completely shut down Southeast.

Haley completed 8-23 passes for 169 yards and two TD's but was intercepted twice in the second half. Holloman had 16 carries for 64 yards.
