Cape Girardeau, MO (March 7, 2004) - This weekend fifteen Southeast Missouri State track and field athletes competed at the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, IN. The meet was the last indoor meet of the season for the athletes.
One top place finisher for Southeast was Heather Jenkins in the weight throw. Jenkins placed second with a throw of 62'4 once again breaking the school record. Megan Youse was fifth in the event throwing 53'2.25.
Jay Heddell was third in the shot put competition with 55'11 and Daniel Jones was fifth in the weight throw with 53'6.25.
Kaci Pilcher ran 4:56.85 in the mile run and Lindsay Zeiler followed Pilcher in the race with 4:58.12.
In the 800-meters Brooke Woodruff ran 2:09.31.
Lyndsey Stevenson placed fifth in the 60-meter hurdles running 8.73.
The Notre Dame Invitational marked the end of the indoor season for the team. They will begin outdoor action March 27, 2004 with the April Fools Invitational to be held at the Abe Stuber track complex in Cape Girardeau.
