A.J. Jones, who hails from Memphis, Tenn., scored double figures in back-to-back games for the first time in his Southeast career last week. He scored 16 points and helped key a 16-2 run which led to Southeast's 86-84 victory over Austin Peay (Jan. 3). Jones scored 10 points during that decisive surge which gave the Redhawks a 76-68 lead with 2:41 left to play. Two days later, he poured in 20 points to lead Southeast in a nationally-televised ESPNU matchup against Murray State (Jan. 5). Jones shot 70 percent (7-of-10) from the field, 3-of-3 from three-point range and a perfect 3-of-3 free throws in that game. He shot 63.6 percent (14-of-22) from the field, 66.7 percent (4-of-6) from downtown, pulled down nine rebounds and averaged 18 points per game as Southeast's leading scorer for the week.
