Preseason All-Ohio Valley Conference guard Antonius Cleveland opened the 2016-17 season with back-to-back double-digit scoring games. Cleveland scored Southeast’s first eight points of the game and finished with 10 in the Redhawks season-opening loss to Big Ten member Illinois (Nov. 11). Two days later, Cleveland led all SEMO scorers with 16 points and three steals in the Redhawks win over Hannibal-LaGrange. He also had three alley-oop dunks against the Trojans during a game where SEMO established new single-game records in steals (23), forced turnovers (30) and points off turnovers (41). Cleveland shot 52.4 percent (11-of-21) from the field for the week.
