Claire Wernig had multiple hits in all three games of Southeast Missouri’s series win over Austin Peay last weekend. A native of Imperial, Missouri, Wernig hit .727 (8-for-11) with six runs scored, a pair of doubles, four RBIs and a perfect 5-of-5 stolen bases for the weekend. She ended her strong series by going 4-for-4 with a double, three runs scored, one RBI and three stolen bases. Wernig’s four hits and three stolen bases were new career-highs. She raised her batting average by 30 points – from .297 to .327 – in three games against the Governors.
