Vivian Lai and Teona Velkoska captured the Austin Peay Fall Invitational Flight 2 Doubles title Saturday at the Governors Tennis Courts in Clarksville, Tennessee, as Southeast Missouri women's tennis opened its fall season. In her first collegiate tennis meet, Lai teamed up with Velkoska to win the Flight 2 Doubles Championship with a perfect 3-0 record. The pair beat Zoe Wende of Western Kentucky and Sarah Brackin of Belmont, 6-2, after an opening round bye. In the semifinals, the duo then defeated Murray State's Marit Kreugel and Sara Loncarevic, 6-1, to advance to the finals. In the championship, Velkoska and Lai bested Laura Bernardos and Lucia Diaz Saez of Western Kentucky, 6-1. Lai also picked up her first career singles win, a 6-4, 6-4 decision on UT Martin's Mizuki Sakurai in the first singles flight.
