Kindra Lierz played nearly 300 minutes in goal for the Redhawks during the OVC Tournament this past week. In three games, she made 15 saves including recording a shutout of No. 2 Tennessee Tech to advance to the Championship match against top-seeded Murray State. In the Championship match, Lierz made six saves and held a tough Murray offense scoreless for almost 100 minutes. Murray scored the championship winning goal with just 53 seconds remaining in the first overtime period to down the Redhawks. Lierz was named OVC All-Tournament Team for her performance in goal during the tournament. With Sunday’s 99 minutes played, Lierz broke the single season record for goalkeeper minutes played in a season with 1,940. After her sophomore season, Lierz ranks fifth in career saves (154), third in career save percentage (.832), fifth in wins (19), third in solo shutout (16), and fourth in career keeper minutes played (3,475).Â
