True freshman quarterback Dante Vandeven threw for 161 yards and two touchdowns, and had one rushing TD in Southeast Missouri’s 44-15 road win at Austin Peay. Vandeven, who hails from Jackson, Missouri, completed 67.8 percent (19-of-28) of his passes and gave the Redhawks their first lead when he scored on a 4-yard run with 1:15 left to play in the first quarter. He went his third-straight game without throwing an interception and went over 1,000 passing yards (1,103). Vandeven is the first Redhawk to throw for over 1,000 yards as a true freshman since Bobby Brune had 1,167 in 1998. He enters the week ranked fifth in the Ohio Valley Conference in pass efficiency (128.4) and sixth in passing average (157.6 ypg).
