2015: Named Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Year and garnered OVC All-Newcomer honors...Started his rookie campaign at No. 3 on Southeast’s depth chart...Took over as the Redhawks starting quarterback in the second half at nationally-ranked Indiana State and started the final eight games of the season...Entered that game late in the third quarter and led Southeast to 21 fourth-quarter points and a near road upset of the Sycamores...He threw a touchdown pass with no time on the clock to bring the Redhawks within a point (although the ensuing two-point conversion attempt came up short...Completed 155-of-250 passes for 1,568 yards and 11 touchdowns, and rushed for 292 yards and another six TDs...Became Southeast’s first true freshman quarterback to throw for over 1,000 yards in a season since 1999...Ranked fifth in the OVC in passing average (174.2 ypg), seventh in pass efficiency (123.6) and fifth in total offense (206.7 ypg)...Was 26th in the Football Championship Subdivision in completion percentage (62 pct.), 41st in completions (17.2 per game) and 46th in points responsible for (12 ppg)...Secured OVC Newcomer of the Week accolades on Sept. 20 and Nov. 15...Was named the STATS FCS Freshman of the Week on Sept. 20...Threw for a season-high 239 yards at No. 1 Jacksonville State (11/14) and ran for a season-best 91 yards and two touchdowns vs. Tennessee Tech (10/31)...Second Southeast player to win the league’s Freshman of the Year honor...Threw a touchdown pass in seven of the nine games he played...Scored a rushing touchdown in four of his final five starts of the season...Won the Redhawks Offensive Newcomer of the Year Award.

Prep: Two-time second-team media selection at nearby Jackson High School…Completed 58 percent of his passes for 2,210 yards and 24 touchdowns while rushing for 954 yards (6.0 avg.) and 19 TDs as a senior...Threw for 2,240 yards with 22 touchdowns and rushed for 913 yards and 20 TDs as a junior…Led the Indians to the state quarterfinals in consecutive seasons.
