The Southeast Missouri Track and Field squads opened the outdoor season with the throwers competing at the Rhodes Invite.
Zavier Winton led the way with a winning the men's hammer throw with a mark of 181-10, setting the tone for a solid day on the men's side. Mark Goldman added a third-place finish with a throw of 166-2, while Quinton Maxwell contributed with a sixth-place mark of 142-7.
On the women's side, the javelin group delivered a tight cluster of top finishes. Kennedy Zgaynor placed fourth with a throw of 145-5, closely followed by Ava Dumke in fifth at 144-11. Avery Graham rounded out the group with a seventh-place finish, reaching 131-6.
The women's hammer squad also showed depth, placing four athletes in the top eight. Alyssa Repke led the group with a fifth-place throw of 163-0, followed by Emerson Gross in sixth (154-4), Ellie Rhinehart in seventh (153-3), and Bailie Hux in eighth (151-10).
The Redhawks will return to the track Thursday opening up day one of three at the Bulldog Relays.
