CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – The Southeast Missouri Track and Field teams swept all six OVC weekly awards, the league announced Monday.
Jackson Witvoet earned the OVC Male Track Athlete of the Week,
Jasmine McClelland won both the OVC Female Track Athlete of the Week and the Female Freshman of the Week awards. Throwers
Marshall Swadley earned Male Field Athlete of the Week and
Andreese Ortiz took home OVC Female Field Athlete of the Week.
Jon'David White wrapped up the awards with OVC Male Freshman of the Week honors.
Witvoet, a sophomore from Cape Girardeau, Missouri, earned the honor after winning the 55m dash with a personal best time of 6.47 and finishing third in the long jump with a second personal best mark of 21-4. It is Witvoet's first time winning the award.
McClelland, a freshman from Memphis, Tennessee, won the awards after winning the 55m dash at the Redhawks Open with a new personal best time of 7.12. It is also her first time winning both awards.
Swadley, a graduate student from Willard, Missouri, won the weight throw event with a personal best mark of 66-8.75 to capture his fourth OVC Male Field Athlete of the Week award.
Ortiz, a sophomore from Homeland, California, set personal best marks in the shot put and weight throw. Her mark of 59-1.5 won the weight throw event and her distance of 47-2.5 finished second in the shot put. It is also Ortiz's first time being cited for the award this season.
White, a freshman from St. Louis, Missouri, after finishing first in the 55m hurdles at the Redhawks Open with a personal best mark of 7.70. It is also Whites first weekly award
The teams compete at the OVC Indoor Championships Tuesday and Wednesday.
