Redhawks Begin Four-Game Road Stretch at SIUE Thursday Evening
Southeast Missouri Women's Basketball (8-15, 4-10 OVC) begins its final road trip of the season this Thursday, February 12, when they take on SIUE (10-14, 3-11 OVC) in Edwardsville, Illinois. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m., CT. at First Community Arena in Edwardsville.

Pivotal Matchup
Thursday's game is a big game for both programs as SEMO and SIUE currently sit eighth and ninth, respectively, in the OVC table. The Redhawks are a game above SIUE at 4-10 while the Cougars linger behind at 4-11.

Series History
The matchup on Thursday night marks the 58th time that the programs have met on the hardwood in women's basketball and marks the second time this season. Earlier this year, the Redhawks downed SIUE with an eight-point, 64-56, victory over SIUE in Cape Girardeau. The Redhawks pushed their series record to 35-22 overall with SIUE and have now won six-straight in the series dating back to the 2022-23 season.

Last Weekend
The Redhawks suffered a setback last Saturday afternoon as Southern Indiana defeated SEMO by a final score of 90-57 inside the Show Me Center. Graduate Carmen Taylor led the way on offense as she scored 21-of-SEMO's-57 points (8-15 FG). Center Ainaya Williams joined Taylor as the only other Redhawk to score in double-digits with 13 points. She led the team in rebounds as well with six boards in 12 minutes.

Four-Straight Road Games
Thursday's game marks the first-of-four-straight road games for the Redhawks. After SIUE on Thursday evening, SEMO will head to Lindenwood (Feb. 14), UT Martin (Feb. 17), and Little Rock (Feb. 21).

Gotta Have It
SEMO Women's Basketball is looking for its third win this season on the road, and their second win on the road in OVC play. Earlier this season, SEMO defeated Wichita State (69-62) in Wichita, Kansas, and most recently picked up their first road OVC win over Eastern Illinois (71-56) two weeks ago. On the season, SEMO is just 2-8 in road games.

Fewer Turnovers
The Redhawks have been taking care of the ball recently having lowered their turnovers per game to 16.7 compared to forcing their opponents into 18.3 turnovers per game. SEMO has a +1.6 turnover-margin with their opponents as the Redhawks rank fifth in the OVC in turnover margin.

Nine Away
Graduate Raissa Nsabua recorded three more assists against Southern Indiana last Saturday afternoon to bring her season total to 89 total assists. In her four years, Nsabua now has 191 total assists over her four-year career and needs just nine more to record 200 career assists. Her 89 assists this season are the most of her career in a single season.

Baker's Dozen
Center Ainaya Williams returned to the floor for the Redhawks on Saturday afternoon in a limited capacity. She did the most with her 12 minutes, as Williams was the second leading scorer with 13 points on 4-5 shooting. Her double-digit performance marked her second game with 10+ points in the last four.

Fourth Most Points
With her 21 points on Saturday afternoon, Carmen Taylor scored the third most points in a game for the Redhawks this season. Taylor has scored 21 points twice this season including Saturday, and earlier this year against Arizona State (11/29/25). She has scored the third most points (2x), second most points (1x), and the most points (1x) in a game this season.

Keep Shootin'
Even after a poor shooting afternoon last Saturday, the Redhawks are still one of the best field-goal percentage teams in the Ohio Valley Conference. SEMO currently ranks fourth in the league, tied with Southern Indiana, at 41.1-percent shooting as a team. Through 23 games, the Redhawks have shot 533-1297 as a team.

Ranked Third

Through 23 games, SEMO has dished out 296 total assists for an average of 12.87 APG. Guard Raissa Nsabua ranks 111th in DI women's basketball in assists per game (4.0) and 136th in total assists (89).

10th in League
Carmen Taylor has been one of the best defenders for the Redhawks in terms of generating steals for SEMO. Taylor, who leads the Redhawks in steals, ranks 10th in the Ohio Valley Conference in steals through 23 games as she has recorded 37 steals. She averages 1.6 steals-per-game, Morehead State's Laura Toffali leads the OVC at 2.9 SPG.
