Women's Basketball Falls at Southern Indiana Thursday

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Southeast Missouri Women's Basketball (5-9, 1-4 OVC) fell to Southern Indiana (10-4, 4-1 OVC), 77-46, at Liberty Arena, with the home team capitalizing on 30 turnovers to score 39 points off those opportunities.

First Quarter 
- Southern Indiana established an early advantage with back-to-back 3-pointers from Ali Saunders.  
- The Redhawks managed to convert three 3-point attempts, with Carmen Taylor contributing significantly.  
- The Eagles capitalized on turnovers, converting 18 points off them and securing a 10-6 edge in points from the paint.  
- At the end of the first quarter, Southern Indiana led 24-10.

Second Quarter  
- Southern Indiana opened the quarter with a 3-pointer from Ali Saunders, assisted by Shannon Blacher.  
- Southeast Missouri's Ainaya Williams and Kearra Jones contributed defensively with two blocks each.  
- The Eagles capitalized on fast breaks, scoring 9 points in transition.  
- At halftime, Southern Indiana led 46–19.

Third Quarter
- Carmen Taylor opened the quarter with a layup, contributing to the Redhawks' early scoring.
- The Eagles responded with strong play in the paint, scoring eight points from close range.
- Despite a series of turnovers, Ainaya Williams and Lexi McCully helped SEMO with successful free throws and an assist, respectively.
- At the end of the third, Southern Indiana held a 58–32 advantage.

Fourth Quarter
- Southern Indiana began with strong defensive plays, recording four steals in the period.
- Kearra Jones and Lexi McCully contributed layups to narrow the gap in the middle of the fourth.
- Lily Graves hit back-to-back 3-pointers to extend the Eagles' lead.
