LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Southeast Missouri Track and Field teams opened day one of the PNC Lenny Lyles Invite Friday with a handful of top 10 finishes while competing against around 60 schools.
In the pentathlon,
Anna Thomason finished third across the five events totaling a new personal best 3982 points. In the 800m she placed third and set a career best 2:21.2. She also finished in second in the 60m hurdles with a personal best mark of 8.34.
The field athletes were led by
Trenton Braswell finished third in the weight throw with a new personal best mark of 68-1.75, which now sits No. 36 in the country.
Marshall Swadley also finished in ninth in the same event with a throw of 63-2.25. In the pole vault,
Jake Cannon placed fifth in the B division with a season best clearance of 15-9.75.
Brianna Dixon and
Liberty Blackburn both tied for eighth in the high jump with a mark of 5-5.
On the track the men
Jonas Davis placed ninth in the 400-meters in the C division with a time of 49.71, ahead of teammate
Kani Smith who placed 12
th in 49.96.
Connor Moore ran in the B division for the same event and finished in 18
th in 50.24. Davis also finished the 200-meters in eighth in 21.75.
Nova Ojutkangas finished eighth in the women's 3000-meters with a time of 9:40.9.
Kale Clements also set a personal best in the 800-meters finishing in 2:20.5
The meet will wrap up Saturday.
