The Southeast Missouri track and field squads had three athletes selected for the OVC Track and Field weekly awards, the league announced Wednesday.
Marshall Swadley was awarded the male Field athlete of the week for the second consecutive week and third time this season.
Matt Pluff earned the male Freshman of the week, and
Clara Billing took home the female Field Athlete of the Week.
Swadley, a graduate student, is the lone male field athlete to win this award this season. At the Indiana Invitational, he took home the shot put event with a mark of 60-6.75. He also placed third in the weight throw with a mark of 65-4.25.Â
Pluff won the high jump at the Indiana Invitational where he reached 6-9.75, his highest mark of the season. This mark also ranks first in the OVC this season.Â
Billing, a senior, earned the award after finishing third in the pole vault at the Indiana Invitational. She reached a mark of 13-3.5 which currently sits at the top of the OVC women pole vaulters this seasonÂ
The Redhawks return to the track Friday and Saturday when they travel to nearby Carbondale where they will compete in the Don DeNoon Invitational.Â
