Redhawks Host UT Martin on Tuesday Evening
Southeast Missouri Women's Basketball (6-11, 2-6 OVC) will play their third-straight home game on Tuesday, January 20, when they welcome in longtime rival UT Martin (9-8, 5-3 OVC) to Cape Girardeau. Tip-off is set for 5:15 p.m., CT. at the Show Me Center.Â

Tuesday night at the Show Me Center marks the third-straight game with a promotion for Redhawk fans in attendance. The matchup with UTM will be 'Chick-Fil-A Day' at the SMC where the first fans in attendance will receive a Chick-Fil-A meal card valid at CFA Cape Girardeau while supplies last.Â

Two of the longest rivals in the Ohio Valley Conference, Southeast Missouri and UT Martin will meet for the 79
th time in women's basketball Tuesday night. UTM has owned the series with a 47-31 overall mark and are on a four-game winning streak in the series. The Redhawks' last win in the series came at the Show Me Center in a 56-54 victory during the 2022-23 season.Â

SEMO picked up its second win of Ohio Valley Conference play on Saturday afternoon as they defeated SIUE by a final score of 64-56 at the Show Me Center behind a game-high 16 points from graduate
Lexi McCully. The Redhawks, who led for most of the contest, lost the lead midway through the fourth quarter, but a huge three from
Lexi McCully made it 55-52 Redhawks who never lost the lead again to hold on for the victory.
Da'Kariya Jackson had a season-high 14 points, including a gigantic three with 32-seconds left to put SEMO up by eight, and grew the lead to 10 points with a pair of free throws 10 seconds later.Â

Third-Straight Home Game
The Redhawks' game on Tuesday marks the third-straight home game over this stretch tying the longest homestand of the season. Earlier this season, SEMO played three-straight home games and went 2-1 over that stretch with wins over William Woods (12/30) and Eastern Illinois (1/1), while suffering a loss to Western Illinois (1/3).Â

Southeast Missouri picked up its first victory of the season on Saturday in which it held a Division I opponent in the 50s on the scoreboard. The Redhawks held SIUE to just 56 points on Saturday afternoon, winning the contest 64-56. SEMO held Western Illinois, who rank in the top three of OVC in scoring, to 58 points but suffered a loss in the contest.Â

Da'Kariya Jackson recorded her season-high in rebounds on Saturday afternoon as she led the team with eight boards. The performance on the glass marked the second time this season that she led the Redhawks in rebounding, the first since the game at Southern Illinois (12/6) where she had seven boards.Â

Lexi McCully, who was the Redhawks' leading scorer through the season's first 13 games, snapped a streak of three-straight games without double-digit points Saturday. McCully led the game with 16 points on an efficient 7-12 shooting (58.3%) from the field and 2-5 from three-point land (40%). With a minimum of 10 attempts, McCully tied her highest shooting-percentage of the season against SIUE recording a 58.3-percentage for the first time since Evansville (7-12, 58.3%) in the second game of the season (11/6).Â

Graduate guard
Raissa Nsabua had another standout performance dishing the rock to her teammates on Saturday afternoon. After recording eight assists versus Lindenwood on Thursday, she dished out seven more against SIUE bringing her total for the week to 15 assists (7.5 APG). The two games mark her second and third highest totals of the season after recording 11 in a game against Missouri State (11/11) earlier this year.Â

Continuing to keep an eye on her pursuit of 200 assists, Nsabua now has 171 total assists for her career after her performance on Saturday. Nsabua also set a new career-best for assists in a season as she sits at 69 through 16 games played. Her previous high came last season at Robert Morris where she had 64 assists in 31 games during the 2024-25 season.Â

Big Week, Climb the Board
Nsabua's big week of dishing helped her climb all the way up to second place from fifth in the Ohio Valley Conference. Nsabua, a native of Ottawa, Ontario, has dished out 69 total assists for an average of 4.3 APG. She trails just Marie Sepp of Morehead State who has 92 assists through 19 games played this season, three more games than Nsabua.Â

Carmen Taylor, who entered Saturday's contest as the Redhawks' leading scorer, had just eight points in the contest but had three of the biggest plays of the fourth quarter to lead to victory. With 2:38 to go, Carmen made a great move to score a layup and give SEMO a 57-54 lead. She then drew a charge against SIUE's Kiyoko Proctor after a SEMO miss and SIUE fastbreak to regain a possession for the Redhawks. She then made another move on the offensive end by driving baseline and scoring to give the Redhawks a 59-54 lead with just 1:14 to go.Â

Saturday's contest against SIUE marked the Redhawks highest shooting-percentage in league play this season. As a team, SEMO shot 46.8-percent from the field as they went 22-47 against the Cougars. Earlier, SEMO's season-high was 43.3-percent as a team against EIU in a 70-68 victory over the Panthers.Â

The Redhawks have played two-straight games with their fewest turnovers in a game this season. Against Lindenwood on Thursday, the Redhawks had their fewest turnovers in a game (9) all season. On Saturday, the Redhawks had just 10 turnovers against SIUE and won the game 64-56.Â
