BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - The Southeast Missouri track and field squads had four athletes selected for the OVC Track and Field weekly awards, the league announced Wednesday.
Marshall Swadley was the lone male winning an award as he received Co-Male Field Athlete of the Week.
Madelyn Gray earned Female Track Athlete of the Week,
Liberty Blackburn was awarded Female Field Athlete of the Week and
Kale Clements won Co-Freshman of the Week.
This is Swadley's second time being tabbed for the award this season. At the Redhawks Invitational he set two more personal best marks in the shot put and the weight throw. In the shotput he reached 62' 2.5" to win the event. His throw currently ranks sixth in the country. In the weight throw, he finished with a 66' 7.25" mark, to finish second. His weight throw distance is currently sitting 29
th in the country.
Gray set a new facility record at the Student Rec Center during the Redhawks Invite when she completed the mile in 5:02.8. She finished second overall in the event. Gray also competed in the 800-meters where she finished third in 2:28.4.
Blackburn won the high jump at the Redhawks Invite with a max height and new personal best mark of 5' 7".
Clements was cited after she finished runner up in the 800 meters finishing in 2:25.3. This time was a 1:10 time drop from her first collegiate meet. Clements also ran a leg of the 4x400-meter relay which won the event.
The squads return to the track Friday and Saturday when they travel to Bloomington, Indiana to compete in the Indiana Invitational.
