Kearra Jones with a Career High 18 Points, Redhawks Fall at Morehead Saturday

MOREHEAD, Ky. — Southeast Missouri Women's Basketball (5-10, 1-5 OVC) fell to Morehead State (9-8, 4-2 OVC), 65-59, despite a late surge with a 23-point fourth quarter. The Redhawks outscored the Eagles 30-24 in the paint but were unable to overcome 19 turnovers.

First Quarter  
- The Eagles established an early lead with back-to-back layups from Kate Dike.  
- Carmen Taylor sparked the Redhawks with a fast-break layup to cut the deficit.  
- Kearra Jones scored a crucial layup and jumper in quick succession to bring the visitors within one point.  
- Madison Ayers' two free throws gave the Redhawks a brief lead before a late 3-pointer from Circe Rubio Remolar put the Eagles back ahead.  
- At the end of the first quarter, the Eagles led 14–12.  

Second Quarter
- The Eagles opened the quarter with a 3-pointer by Kate Dike, assisted by Landon Forbes.
- Raissa Nsabua contributed two successful free throws for the Redhawks, narrowing the gap.
- Ainaya Williams added a crucial tip-in for the Redhawks, keeping the game close.
- The Eagles' Anja Ekstrom closed the quarter with a 3-pointer, taking a 29–23 lead into halftime.

Third Quarter
- Carmen Taylor connected on a 3-pointer at 7:19, assisted by Raissa Nsabua, narrowing the gap.
- Kearra Jones followed with a layup at 6:51, cutting the deficit to four points.
- The Eagles responded with a 3-pointer by Landon Forbes, assisted by Marie Sepp, at 6:30.
- At the end of the third quarter, the Eagles led 45–36.

Fourth Quarter
- Lexi McCully connected on a 3-pointer assisted by Raissa Nsabua, cutting the Eagles' lead to six early in the quarter.
- Carmen Taylor recorded two 3-pointers and a fast-break layup, contributing significantly to the Redhawks' offense.
- Despite the Redhawks' efforts, Landon Forbes' late free throws helped the Eagles maintain the lead.
- At the final buzzer, the Eagles secured the victory with a score of 65-59.
