Redhawks Open Ohio Valley Conference Play Wednesday Versus UT Martin
Southeast Missouri Volleyball (7-5, 0-0 OVC) will host longtime rival UT Martin (1-10, 0-0 OVC) in the first match of Ohio Valley Conference play in 2025. The Redhawks and Skyhawks will meet on Wednesday, September 24 inside Houck Field House. First serve is slated for 6 p.m., CT.Â

th time that the Redhawks and Skyhawks have faced each other on the volleyball court. SEMO holds a dominant 72-23 overall record and is currently on a six-match winning streak that dates back all the way to Oct 1, 2022.Â

Missouri Challenge
The Redhawks wrapped up their final preseason tournament over this past weekend at the Missouri Challenge hosted by Saint Louis in St. Louis, Mo. The Redhawks picked up victories over Kansas City (3-0) and Missouri State (3-2) and concluded the tournament with a loss to Saint Louis (2-3). Outside hitters

Nina Schuberth was named the Ohio Valley Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday afternoon. Schuberth, the reigning OVC 'Defensive Player of the Year', concluded the weekend with an impressive 57 digs over the three matches at the Missouri Challenge in St. Louis, Mo.Â

She recorded 20+ kills in two-of-three matches this past weekend, including a season-high 27 digs against Saint Louis (9/20) on Saturday afternoon. She finished the weekend with a .960 reception percentage and had a perfect 1.000 against SLU. This season, Nina has recorded 166 digs over 12 matches. She is averaging 3.53 digs-per-set which ranks her eighth in the OVC. She has an overall reception percentage of .935 and has three matches this season with a 1.000 reception mark. For Schuberth, the award marks the first of her season and she is the second Redhawk to garner the weekly status.

Lucy Arndt surpassed 1,000 career kills in the opening match of the Missouri Challenge against Kansas City. Arndt, who entered the weekend with 991 career kills, finished with 11 kills against the Roos to eclipse the 1,000 mark. She then recorded 23 kills against Missouri State and added 19 more against Saint Louis. She now has 1,044 career kills.Â

Through 12 games this season, SEMO Volleyball ranks near the top of all DI women's volleyball in digs-per-set. The Redhawks average 15.89 DPS which ranks them 30
th in the country for the category.

The middle blocking trio of

Alaina Lester, and
Ramiri Gardner have provided a strong presence in the middle of the court through non-conference play. The trio has combined for 58 total blocks. On the pins,

Sophomore
Alaina Lester returned to the court this past weekend after missing some time due to injury. Lester played In the final two matches of the Missouri Challenge where she played in nine sets, recording 13 kills and 7.0 blocks. The Redhawks' 'Preseason Player to Watch' in the OVC has played in 31 sets this season and is averaging nearly 2.0 points-per-set.Â
