CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Four more redhawks place first as Southeast Missouri enjoyed a successful day two with 19 top ten marks with six being podium finishes and nine new personal bests. 11 Redhawks also claimed their spot in their respective event finals.
After day two the men's and women's teams hold onto their lead with total points of 95 and 72.
Atop the Podium
After the first event
Anna Thomason was in last in the heptathlon but she fought back and after the final event she was wearing the gold with 4921 total points.
Luke Hatfield Jackson jumped to a distance of 25' 6.25" in the men's long jump to stand alone atop the podium.
Brianna Dixon wins the high jump title after clearing a height of 5' 7.75", defending her own title from the Indoor season
Paden Lewis achieved a new PR and broke an OVC Discus record that stood for 52 years after throwing for a mark of 188' 4".
Medal Performances
After the decathlon was over
Jake Casey was wearing the bronze with a new personal best total of 6377 points.
Clay Alewelt grabbed the silver medal with a final discus throw of 177' 0".
Top Ten Finishes
Tayler Gudde and
Kendall Holweg both posted new personal record scores of 4680 points and 4506 points in the heptathlon.
The Redhawks notched three scorers in the 3000m steeplechase with
Myles Thornburg finishing in fourth with an ending time of 9:39.85,
Jacob Blassingame placing fifth (9:44.48), and
Clayton Eftink posting a time of 9:55.25 (8th).
In the women's 3000m Steeple
Alayna Sparr achieved a new personal best time of 11:44.57 (5th) while Layla Fleige finished in 10th with a time of 12:14.65.
Luis Schadlich finished the decathlon with 3125 total points.
With jumps of 23' 2.75" and 22' 7.25"
Aarion Jackson and
Kenyon Johnson placed sixth and eighth in the men's long jump.
Molly Grohmann cleared a height of 5' 6.50" in the women's long jump for fourth.
Jehchys Brown and
Quinton Maxwell achieved marks of 157' 7" and 146' 3" for fifth and eighth.
Headed To The Finals
Marcus Gordon Punched his ticket to the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.51.
The women headed to the 100m hurdle finals are Thomason (13.74),
Clara Billing (13.96, PR) and
Brianna Dixon (14.07).Â
Connor Moore took the last spot in the 400m finals with a time of 48.48.
Sydney Burdine crossed the line at 54.93 to advance to the 400m finals.
With a new PR time of 11.92,

Deca Day Two
Casey cleared hurdles for 110m in a time of 16.21 for fifth to begin the decathlon for day two.
The discus saw Casey and Schadlich placed second and fifth with distances of 131' 2" and 126' 8" (PR).
Casey cleared a height of 11' 11.75" for sixth in the deca pole vault.
In the javelin, Casey achieved a mark of 147' 3" for third and Schadlich recorded an ending distance of 126' 1" for eighth.
The last event of the day saw Casey clock in at 5:27.59 in the 1500m.
Hepta Day Two
Day two of the heptathlon began with the long jump where Thomason placed first (18' 11.25"), Holweg notched third (17' 7.75"), and Gudde grabbed sixth (16' 8.50")
In the javelin the hepta squad went one, two, and three with Gudde (130' 7", PR), Thomason (121' 3"), and Holweg (119' 3).
The final event, 800m, saw Gudde place first (2:24.37), Thomason place second (2:28.23), and Holweg place sixth (2:40.06).
Day Three
The final day of competition will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the women's shot put. The running events are slated to start at 12:30 with the 4x100m relays.
