Three Athletes Tab OVC Weekly Awards

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Three Redhawk track & field athletes claimed Ohio Valley Conference weekly honors for their performances this past weekend, the league announced Wednesday morning.
Laila Hardin earned Female Track Athlete of the Week two weeks in a row as she placed fifth out of 50 in the 400m hurdles with a time of 59.41 that earned her first place in the OVC. Hardin's performance was the third fastest 400m hurdles time in SEMO history.
Paden Lewis continues his Male Field Athlete of the Week dominance from the indoor season picking up his first award of the outdoor season. Lewis posted a first place finish in shot put (60' 1") as well as second place finishes in the hammer throw (207' 10") and in the discus (174' 4") this week. Lewis's shot put ranks him 39th in the NCAA and first in the OVC, as well as being the fourth longest throw in SEMO records.
Makenzie Williams tabbed Female Field Athlete of the Week after standout performances in both hammer throw and discus. Williams threw for 181' 3" to place sixth of 34 in hammer throw and 155' 4" to place third of 32 in discus. Both marks rank sixth all time in school history.
