2025 Football Schedule Includes Trip to Reigning FCS National Champion North Dakota State

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri will play a 12-game football schedule with six home dates this upcoming 2025 season.

SEMO's non-league slate is headlined by a trek to reigning Football Championship Subdivision National Champion North Dakota State (Sept. 13). The Redhawks will face the Bison for the first time. NDSU won its FCS record 10th national title in 2024. All of its national titles have come since 2011.

SEMO opens its season at Football Bowl Subdivision and Sun Belt Conference member Arkansas State (Aug. 30) and hosts North Alabama (Sept. 6) before it heads to Fargo, North Dakota.

The Redhawks then wrap up non-conference action when they welcome longtime rival Southern Illinois (Sept. 20) in the annual War for the Wheel during Family Weekend. This year marks the 93rd meeting between the schools. SEMO beat the then-nationally ranked Salukis twice in the last three seasons.

SEMO starts its eight-game Ohio Valley Conference-Big South schedule at UT Martin (Sept. 27), one of the three teams the Redhawks shared the conference title with in 2024. The Redhawks and Skyhawks began last season's league docket with a 45-42 double overtime slugfest that resulted in SEMO winning.

The rest of the Redhawks OVC-Big South road games are at Tennessee Tech (Oct. 25), Gardner-Webb (Nov. 8) and Western Illinois (Nov. 15).

Meanwhile, SEMO's conference home-opener will be against Tennessee State (Oct. 11). Eastern Illinois (Oct. 18) will come to Cape Girardeau on Homecoming Weekend, while Charleston Southern (Nov. 1) and Lindenwood (Nov. 22) also visit Houck Field.

The Redhawks went 9-4 overall and 6-2 in the OVC-Big South a year ago. SEMO shared the OVC-Big South title with Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech and UT Martin. UTM, TSU and SEMO all made the FCS Playoffs with the Redhawks claiming the league's automatic berth.
